It does confuse me why some read messages then quickly unread them. Anyone shed any light on the reason for this?

Maybe they are a couple, one of them has read it but want to come back when the other is around?

I do that if I want to come back to it and maybe reply when I get chance.

Couple's may do it incase 1 of them have read it but they want the OH to read it too.

If I leave mine read then I'd forget to reply.

I unread the interesting ones if I’ve got a lot to get through. It’s my way of highlighting it to answer later

Maybe, but it’s mostly on single profiles I message it happens though.

Yep it could be a good sign that they want to reply when they can.

All of the above. Normally for us means it’s worthy of some kind of response.

It boosts my ego to have unread messages. The yellow Inbox icon makes me feel better about myself.

ow right I never thought of it that way. Thought it was just a polite way to just not answer, I hope that’s the case with my other messages lol x

I do it so I can reply later when I have time and I may just whittling down my inbox.

That said if the sender then questions why I have marked unread or asks why I'm not talking or generally follows up before I have had the chance to respond it really doesn't go down well with me and an unread message will quickly become a deleted one.

I read them to see if they are worth replying to..if not, i unread them... then delete them for good measure...

It beats trying to remain calm whilst replying 'sorry not what I'm looking for'
