Wow it feels amazing and shocking all at once it was a year ago I had an osteotomy to my knee to repair it and stop it from dislocation and prevention of walking (even though I did an worked with it daily)
I posted on fab forums weekly about the ups and downs an some amazing people messaged me and supported me even though they didn’t know me or had to do a huge thank you.
I got signed off by the consultant in May that the bone is healed an strong but told to expect another 6months plus of weakness, discomfort and struggle due to muscle build up and strength so part of the journey is completed but still away to go.
I am able to manage in work now yet still have moments when it reminds me it’s not 100% but due to nature of my job I give everything to others am leave nothing for self which I know is silly but hey ho.
But like last night went to a gig first since not using crutches and after 45 mins of standing I had to sit as it went weak an tired. That was upsetting but I was with my dad so didn’t cry like I normally would in frustration instead he sat down asked was it my knee tired and sat with me till I was ready stand again.
So I know this is long but thanks for reading and the support sorry if I still post an need people help and chats as I said I know no one knows me but I don’t have any friends I can speak to in real world ?? due to shyness and anxiety (which since operation is in overdrive lol)

It’s crazy every day my Facebook shows me memories and every day is something regarding my recovery. Seems mad it was a year ago I was recovering as it feels longer yet when I see the post or an image feels like yesterday.
Am at 90% now my leg is still weak but I know it’s all muscular as work been easier each week.
Still I know am careful and maybe cautious some may say too cautious but wouldn’t wana mess up.
Off for first holiday Sunday in 2 years since did injury and since operation and can’t wait feel I deserve it after everything plus since been back at work not had any leave only days off which sucks as worked every weekend more or less since January
Anyway thanks for the support fab forum ppl |

"Glad to see that you're making a gradual recovery OP
I suffer from psoriatic arthritis which can be a right bugger sometimes "
Ouch I bet that can be bad
Yeah I find after 5 months back in work is good odd times get twinge or ache depending on task an care giving but better than was. Dr said natural cos bone fixed now is internal an muscular regeneration so just try push but don’t over do it |
