The wonderful pianist Dr John and singer Dr John has died.

He was a quirky character and had a distinctive New Orleans style to his playing which I (Phil) loved.

I only saw him live once.

I know he's not a big-league name, but if you want to add a thought then please do.

Great guy, Rose went to see him years ago. Great way to go, at 77 suddenly from a heart attack - no dementia or loss of the ability to make his music, which he'd have hated. RIP.

That’s sad to hear. He had a style of playing that was very relaxed and unhurried made it look easy while others were charging up and down the keyboard to achieve the same thing.
