I welcome privatisation of the NHS. I would love it if its part of the deal with the US because only then will all these utter fuckwits realise they've been manipulated and bent over a barrel over the NHS and this whole Brexit fiasco.
People will never learn until it starts hitting their pocket and they have to fork out £80 everytime they need to see a Doc or Nurse or when they start paying £2000 for an ambulance call out when their poor mum is having a heart attack. I'm going to enjoy all the social media posts when people are shocked they have to pay £400 for a tablet that's been supplied by US big pharma. I'm going to laugh my head off when all these idiots who voted UKIP and Tories find out that they need to pay for health insurance and Cant afford the monthly costs so they go without. I'll even LMFAO when after surgery they have to call the insurance company they are with too beg them to cover the cost of the surgery.
Its going to be epically funny. |

"You have a strange sense of humour. "
I like watching the world burn. I remember working for a construction company and thick typical white van man kept talkibg about how shit Labour was and he hated all the foreigners so he decided to vote Tory. Anyway, Tories came into power, claimed they need to make austerity measures and cut funding, this pillock had to be made redundant. I laughed all the way home. Just goes to show how thick people are. |

So, of course, you'll be asking your employer to increase your salary 3,4 or 5 times what it is now to meet your future medical needs and costs?
Good luck with that idea. Better still, if you wish to see it happen, why not live in the USA for a few years and see if it's suitable & sensible for all levels of society? |

"Ill be dead soon then. Can’t afford private health care. I pay taxes, appreciate the NHS. Ah well. Fun "
The average American pays $10,000 a year for healthcare insurance. Some Brits prefer privatisation because they think paying £700 a year for NI is too much. I guess in their minds 700 is more than 10,00 |

Exactly and these idiots want us to do a trade deal with the US which means they will have access to the NHS and possibly request that they are sole providers of medical supplies. Imagine paying £400 just for an asprin or some antibiotics? Oh well you may as well die from that infection you have |

The idea is to get employers to supply a
Good health package for there employees therefore nobody will be without if they actually get up, go to work and do something for the Fukin country. Rather than just sit on the sick or the dole bumming cash and giving it the guilt trip behind a keyboard or Doctors desk...
It will lower tax’s, Nurses will be properly paid for the work they do and it will create jobs and business opportunity for hundreds and thousands of people. So it’s a good thing it you ask me!!!!
Our system is shite!!!! We wait days to see a doctor, get told we can’t have certain treatments because the government won’t fund it and and pay for it out of our own pocket!!!!

I think the votimg system should be changed and people who havent been University educated should not be allowed to vote. Everyone should have to do an intellegence test yearly to be able to vote. If you get below a certain score you're not allowed. Then these politicians wont get away with their hate mongering and corruption. They pander to people with lesser minds and get them on mass to vote for shit they don't even understand just so some toff politician can make some extra money in the side |

Where did you get this bullshit from?
Firstly the average insurance for an American is $10,000. Is your employer going to pay £10,000 for insurance for every employee? That money also doesn't go to nurses. It goes to the insurance companies and they can pick and chose what procedures you can have. They may not even pay for treatment you need because they deem it too expensive.

Our system is shite because it is purposely underfunded and mismanaged so idiots can be persuaded that privatisation is the way forward. Look how it worked out for tbe transport system. We pay the highest ticket fees in Europe and our trains never run, cancelations daily. |

As a healthy American I pay approximately $13,000 per year for health insurance. This does not include co pays $20.00 for doctor visits or xrays..$20-$500. Private healthcare is big business. We have patients who cannot afford their medications due to big pharma companies driving up costs. Perfect example $15,000.00 for one round of chemo therapy. $200.00 for an inhaler. Private healthcare is expensive healthcare. |

Thank you. Idiots here seem to think Privatisation means better service and costs driving down. Why would companies compete to lower the costs? They don't all need to make the same medication so they have monopolies when it comes to certain medical appliances/medication.

Ok ok... I still think your daft..
Plus it’s only about £6000 to the $10000 and in my eyes it would be cheaper than paying tax for it!!!!
I pay 40% and most of it is because of people that don’t pay for the NHS and to support you all with public services!!!
Why should I have to pay for it? I don’t even use it??
So yeah I say privatise it |

This is how an HMO(Health Maintenance Organization) works. They tell you what physicians to see, which medications you are allowed to take, tests to have and if you need surgery they tell you which hospital you'll use. |

Firstly don't call people daft when you don't know the difference between "your" and "you're" and you make stupid claims based on zero facts.
Firstly your 40% tax doesn't go towards the NHS. Your National Insurance contributions do. If you earn between £118-£798 per week you pay 12% in NI. If you earn more than £800 per week you pay 2% NI. So effectively wealthy tossers are paying less NHS contributions than the rest of the people.
So would you rather pay 2% towards the NHS or £11,500 a year towards private insurance? You're not very clever are you? |

NO our system is shite because people use it wrong and abuse it. Going to A&E with a stomach bug or belly ache. Wrong services for silly things. On a friday/sat night 400+ d*unk people sat there coz they have drank to much. People need to get a grip. Making the NHS private is wrong and people will die early deaths because they can’t afford treatment. Do u know how much it is for a single bag of chemotherapy?? just one bag that holds a litre of Normal saline with a drop of chemo in?? A cancer patient requires at least 10 bags on some regimes in just one cycle? ur talkin over 3k for just one cycle.

Strangely I had a similar conversation about this yesterday!
I support the NHS, the work they do is amazing!
What is disgusting is charging Doctors, nurses, porters and all others who attend to pay to park at work, that is disgusting!
If you're doctor can't see you the same day, change doctors, I can ring at 8.30 and get an appointment the same day should I require it and have even asked for a phone diagnosis and the doctor has booked me an appointment later that day to provide the care I required, excellent care!
I do however think that the NHS is a victim of it's own success, people live longer because medical treatments and care have improved immensely over time and, although that is a good thing, it struggles to keep up with the demands of a growing nation because it can keep people alive!
Should we also not spare a thought for those who would gladly give up there space on this earth because they are being kept alive through their illnesses when they would gladly give their lives to make the space required available for others?!
Long live the NHS just reform it, give the people who work for it the respect they deserve and the people who use it the ability to continue to, from all walks of life no matter what their social standing!
But don't get me started on the d*unks and bums who think it right to attack and hurt the very people trying to help them... more disgusting than any government could ever be!
rant over...

My employer does pay half of the insurance premium buy my cost is still $13,000 per year. Yes it's pretax, which reduces my taxable income. However, I'm single with zero deductions. I pay additional taxes at year end. Medical bills are tax deductible but the total deduction must be 7% of your income for the year. |

"As a healthy American I pay approximately $13,000 per year for health insurance.
Try explaining that to this idiot who thinks it'll mean more jobs and lower tax for him.
Note high earners pay less tax and NI contributions and yet claim they are supporting people not working. Go figure |

So yeah I say privatise it
You dont use the NHS? At all?
No?? Never??
Last time I did they just fobbed me off with some shit tablets!!! I just ate the correct food and powered on..
I see what you mean about the more serious cases yeah as I have family in Canada and my relative was diagnosed with cancer!!! The treatments, medicine and general operation of the Health care out there is 100% better than here!!!
We already have bupa in place but people can’t afford to go that route coz we already get stung for tax’s. Take that away and we have a solution!!!
People will care about what they eat and not wanting to become poorly coz it might cost them more!!! It’s a win win "
Fair enough...but I can almost guarantee before you time is up you will.
I've been interested in your views although I'm still all for the NHS...its one of the things this country should be proud of. Yes it has it's terrible failings at the moment but it is a credit to us.
How you think going private will improve it from a nurses point of view? |

His views aren't interesting. They are based on bullshit. He has zero factual data and I've disproved him several times. He says Canada is way better even though Canada has a NHS like us. But he wants privatisation because it means less taxes when taxes don't effect healthcare and it will cost him more if privatised.
The guy makes no sense and is daft |

"Strangely I had a similar conversation about this yesterday!
Imagine you're outthere saving a life and you get a £80 parking fine. Good old Tory management of the NHS"
Isn't that what reform means? I have stopped illegally to help save some ones life and you are able to challenge any parking fine given, I did and had a police report, support and my own witness statement which overturned the fine with no problem at all. also a parking fine is delivered by a person working for the council which could be under any government rule |

I would guess they would get a decent salary for the work they do . As would the cleaners and carers plus all the other people who work for crap wages in the nhs .
The biggest problem facing the nhs apart from the fact that we are living longer , is the availability of jobs in the private sector offering more money for the same job . Were it not for the high % of foreign workers in our nhs we wouldn’t have one at all !
It really is time the nhs started paying the nurses , cleaners , cooks and so on a decent wage .
If we have to pay a bit more national insurance to allow for this then that’s fine with me . We really are lucky to have a nhs and perhaps if we all realised how important it is to sustain it , it will be there for future generations . |

Im lazy with my English I’m sorry about that..
Can’t be bothered arguing about the rest of it...
Canada do well off it why can’t we!!! They are
one of the most thriving countries in the world! Why? Because they look after there own people first!!! The NHS is just getting abused by immigrants and lazy people claiming they have problems..
At least you know you what your paying for if it’s private!!!
But whatever, I’m not an expert In political finance... so..
Goodnight

Privatisation does not mean nurses get more money. Where did you get that from? Insurance companies will get the money and nurses will be paid the same as they are now. Infact private owners of hospitals will just find ways of hiring unqualified "nurses" to pay them less. |

The impression I've got is that you want attention and to be noticed.
Well, making inflammatory statements isn't going to make you popular - yes it will get you noticed, but for all the wrong reasons.
And sarcasm is the lowest form of wit!

If you get below a certain score you're not allowed. Then these politicians wont get away with their hate mongering and corruption. They pander to people with lesser minds and get them on mass to vote for shit they don't even understand just so some toff politician can make some extra money in the side"

In my area Virgin Care have taken over alot of contracts for services. New staff have less favourable contracts and it's all about profit. Privitisation slowly killing this area. I would love to see a map of all the areas now under private control. One day we will wake up and poooof the NHS has gone. |

In my experience I'd say you are half right. It's not underfunded but it is miss managed.
I've had significant surgery on my back.
My consultant told me there were 2 operations they could perform. 1 was pretty much guaranteed to work, 1 had a low chance of success.
The one with the low chance was much cheaper. The NHS guidelines were to take the lower cost option as "If it worked" they'd save money, even though the surgeons knew it was unlikely to succeed.
It didnt work. The guidelines said even though it didnt succeed it might have done some good (even though it hadnt) so instead of doing the higher cost surgery, they had to try the cheaper one again.
Guess what?
Having tried the cheap one twice with no positive outcome they did the more expensive one, which has been a perfect success.
Remove the bean counters, allow the experts to make the decisions and the NHS would be in a much better financial situation.

"The idea is to get employers to supply a
Good health package for there employees therefore nobody will be without if they actually get up, go to work and do something for the Fukin country.
BULL SHIT!!!! "
The 'system' for most people wouldn't change, you think the few companies that will pay for a decent insurance package for the staff will keep their wages at the same level, effectively giving them a huge pay increase overnight? You think many companies will actually do that? it will create a 2 tier system where you end up paying out of your own pocket, waiting for days/weeks/months to see a doctor, be told your lack of or meagre insurance doesn't cover certain treatments etc etc more money personally leaving your pocket as individuals & way poorer service, the proof is there the experiment is in progress, in the good old USA. |

"I welcome privatisation of the NHS.

On a friday/sat night 400+ d*unk people sat there coz they have drank to much. People need to get a grip. Making the NHS private is wrong and people will die early deaths because they can’t afford treatment. A cancer patient requires at least 10 bags on some regimes in just one cycle? ur talkin over 3k for just one cycle.

My dad was hospitalised with sepsis at the beginning of 2018, the NHS saved his life, the treatment he received would have cost close to £1million if we lived in the US (he was in intensive care for over a month). Although our system may be flawed in some places and could be vastly improved in others, everyone should appreciate the unique service and care we have access to. |

"Our system is shite because it is purposely underfunded and mismanaged so idiots can be persuaded that privatisation is the way forward. Look how it worked out for tbe transport system. We pay the highest ticket fees in Europe and our trains never run, cancelations daily.
"
A family member has a similar issue with their back. It is degenerative in nature and has been an issue for more than 10yrs. It is operable but rather than operate, they would rather see people on meds, in pain and immobile rather than fix the issue when there is still quality of health and before any long lasting muscular/skeletal become further issues.
Whilst I do not agree with privatisation and I haven't seen anyone post proof it is or has increased. The misuse of funds seems exorbitant. A year ago I could book in with my Dr within the same week, now it's a 5-7 week wait yet the waiting rooms are empty any time I walk in or attend. Similarly I cannot have a nurse tell me seemingly simple blood results despite them being taken - I have to book in separately.
Personally, I recently had surgery where a 6wk follow-up was needed, they were too busy so I was told to google what I needed to do. 13 months later I received a hr long call advising me I had done it all wrong so had to do it all again - information was then sent. This is completely redundant as it is a yr past and unlikely to succeed especially without seeing me. Why couldn't this simple pamphlet not at least been sent out or been available at out-patients?

Illness is neither an indulgence for which people should pay, nor an offence for which they should be penalised, but simply a misfortune, the cost of which should be shared by the community.
I am extremely proud to serve the NHS and very grateful for it.

I would definitely introduce a refundable charge on GP appointments - 126 people failed to attend their booked appointments at my surgery last week.
£20 to book an appointment which is refunded on attendance. That would soon cut down the amount of utter shite bags wasting valuable slots and resource. |

"The NHS is in its present state because we are massively overpopulated and it’s poorly managed.
And the obesity crisis
We imported that from the good old U.S of A
Never got what they see as good in it tbh
Nothing is good about obesity and it's the final straw for the NHS "

"I welcome privatisation of the NHS.
Grow up!!
The NHS is the envy of the world, without them I would not be here"

"As a healthy American I pay approximately $13,000 per year for health insurance.
Pfizer.....making illness unaffordable for all...
Pfizer, Glaxo/Smith Kline, Turing Pharmaceuticals (Martin Shkreli) we can thank him for increasing the cost of some common medications such as the epi- pen by 5400%.
Lets not forget the now jailed douche bag who increased the cost of the Aids medication by a factor of 56. "
Douche bag...I use thst all the time. It's amazing thi how far treatment has come in these days. Thst used to be seen as a death sentence. |

NHS is just a massive failure. No lack of common sense. They waste billions and simply do not care.
I know this as my work do alot of work for NHS, we can charge them anything they will pay it. On top of that we even get machines worth 10000s of pounds, new, used, that we take then sell back to another NHS else where in the uk. One time we collected a machine, charged them 5k to take, then resold for 75k to another NHS department. Crazy. |

"The idea is to get employers to supply a
Good health package for there employees therefore nobody will be without if they actually get up, go to work and do something for the Fukin country.
BULL SHIT!!!! "
Pop quiz....
Will it cost a. less or b. more than it currently does? |

"Don't the UK have both public (NHS) and private healthcare?
Does the NHS have 1st, 2nd and common class wards or private wings?"
No. so everyone is entitled to free NHS care, there are private health care providers too but normally separate hospitals. The care is usually the same but much quicker if you pay at a private hospital. |

Thanks.
I think NHS is important as it provides healthcare for those who need it but overwhelmed as everybody is using it.
In my country, we have abundant private hospitals (separate hospitals) for those who can afford and wanting an earlier appointment.
As for our public hospitals, we have classes (1st, 2nd and common) where the bills are calculated differently for those who can afford better beds/rooms while in the hospital. We are also trying (only in several public hospitals) to have private wings within the public hospitals, for those who can afford and wanting an earlier appointments.
It's not perfect but it reduces the funding on the healthcare.
I think NHS is good but the implementation can be improved (stratification of the patients based on their economic status).
Not sure if it makes sense or possible for the UK.

We have this bizarre situation now where ultra remainers who told us that TTIP was not a risk to the NHS are telling us that a trade deal with the USA is; and ultra BREXITeers who told us that TTIP was a risk to the NHS are telling us that a trade deal with the USA is not.
Both are misleading you.

Yes it is to a certain extent
They just pay more for the rooms.
Common class 30 beds, 2nd class usually around 4 to 8 per ward and 1st usually single or 2 beds.
The bills are tabulated separately fot instance CT Scan for the Brain (plain unenhanced)..3rd class will pay like £5, 2nd class £20 and 1st class pay full cost £35.
The decision still made based on the case rather than the class.
Different from private wing.
Private wing they will be prioritised regardless of the urgency of the case. So, it will be done within the same day but after normal office hours (after 5pm) because they are using the same personnel. |

The Brexit Party entered the Peterborough by-election in a perfect position to win by a substantial amount of votes and I am amazed they didn't ,, I just wonder if their failure was due to Mrs May leaning over to Mr Trump and ensuring that he heard the question from TheTimes journalist that TheNHS was part of any trade deal with The USA ,,, I just wonder if his initial response has just "hit home" with enough people for them to now begin to realise that the Brexit dream might actually be a nightmare |

I actually think that the real reason that labour won the by-election is that people are intelligent enough to realise that farage and his brexit party are not fit to run our country. Their success at the European elections was a protest against the mainstream parties and the complete fuck up that has been made of our exit from europe |

A win is a win even if it’s only 608 votes . That’s democracy (or so we are told!)
What I find fascinating, and isn’t making it to the headlines/sound bites is the turnout and vote share.
Turnout - considerably down on the 2017 GE
Vote share - Labour lost 17%, Tories lost 25%
Where did the vote share go? Brexit Party and LibDems, the former being the main recipient.

Thank fuck they didn’t win it. The smug grin on Farage’s mug would have been unbearable.
I like to think if they couldn’t win that, they’ll still struggle to do very well in a GE.
Maybe it’s time for the Lib Dem’s to capitalise on some more of the drift way from the main two. |
