" pissed me off as well ...I don't lecture people about steak and chips etc" Right?! I don’t tell Vegans what they’re missing out on. I don’t mind vegan food once in a while but I’m not going to make whole life changes because of a leaflet, tv show or some twat walking around in a hessian sack for trousers telling me I’m rotting the planet.

"I have nothing wrong or against vegans, in fact I think I have praise for them in being so persistent in their life choice. What bugs me is being preached to about why being vegan is so amazing. If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s being preached at. " I hear ya!

"No. I find that people who eat meat complain more about vegans, than vegans mention ‘I’m vegan’. I’ve known some vegans for years and I never would have known if we hadn’t gone out for dinner, or I hadn’t been asking them if they wanted something and they couldn’t. #LeaveVegansAlone" This is so true. I hear so much more bros complaining about vegans than the supposed self-righteous vegans.

"Does anyone find that most vegans have this underlying sense of superiority over everyone? " I hear this exact opinion far more than I hear from any actual vegans. But I think some meat eaters feel the need to undermine them because they feel defensive about their own choices. So they believe the vegans are trying to take over and make them eat plants, when they're not. If meat eaters had to kill the animal themselves they probably would go vegi. Cruelty - growing crops kills billions of insects, rodents, birds or are we just interested in cute and cuddly. Bow - good grief!" You obviously haven’t really found out much about the food we eat For every lb of meat it takes between 15-20 lbs of vegetable to produce it, farming is primarily done to feed animals and that’s approximately 80% of the worlds fields All that is currently on the rise as humans are consuming huge amounts of rainforest for farming, that cases devastation of the planet and the natural ozone of the planet will be affected if it doesn’t stop, in layman’s terms It means we are fucking ourselves over Stop farming animals means less food is needed to be grown so just food for humans and rainforests are left alone I just wish I could be a vegan, tbh meat doesn’t taste as good as it used to anyway but we are just so set in our ways So I’d still bow to the vegans they really are the ones taking care of this world by doing this personal choice and in future we probably will all be anyway Regarding cruelty you really should look online and see what life is like for animals that are farmed

"Personally I'm vegan more because when I tried it, it got rid of my IBS, acne and I lost weight. I wouldn't claim I'm saving the planet and I didn't really decide to do it for moral reasons. I did however always feel guilt about eating animal products so its felt like a kind of weight off my shoulders now. I do slip up from time to time, usually when I'm d*unk! I don't lecture anyone unless they start giving me shit for it. I do tell people though if it comes up in conversation as it takes effort and I'm proud of myself for achieving my goals." Need more vegans like you :D

"Do you wear leather (not a kinky question)?" I don't buy myself leather anymore no. I have a couple of leather jackets from my pre-vegan days that I'm not throwing away because, again, I haven't really done it for moral reasons. But I don't buy leather now and I try to go for products I know aren't tested on animals too, so I don't feel guilty.

Try to wear an extra jumper instead of paying a company to heat my house. Avoid plastic if I can. And I've been sterilised. So... what is it that's *really* bothering you about vegans then?

"Well they are superior, they are generally far more healthier and are protecting this world as best as they can, they ultimately do the very best to stop animal cruelty and deforestation, we should all bow to those hero’s Not so! Eat lots of imported food stuff plus either have to eat fortified foods or have vit b12 injections ... vegetarians are healthy because we're omnivores not vegans (the animal equivalent to a vegetarian) " I don't personally eat lots of imported or fortified food and I don't have B12 injections. I seem pretty healthy. Certainly haven't got any complaints.

They see themselves as people who don't use or eat animals that can't consent.

"Does anyone find that most vegans have this underlying sense of superiority over everyone? " No. It's nothing to do with being a vegan or not, more to do with the individuals character. I know a lot of vegans and vegetarians who don't force their views on me or others, I know many non vegetarians who do force their ideas on others.

"I was a veggie on my 20s and sime people used to go out of their way to pick arguments about it. I was quite shy in those days, and not a "preachy" veggie. Sometimes people feel threatened by anyone "different", -I've had similar reactions more recently when I've been out with drinkers and I've not for whatever reason been drinking. Someone who isn't following the "pack" can make some people feel uncomfortable. I think that says more about them, to be honest." Completely true. I find this in many walks of life and especially on fab.

"With the potential to lose many of our insect life, just eating plants won't save them. Their loss is due to loss of habitat and toxins from pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers. Saving the planet includes letting your yard go wild, and eating food that hasn't been grown at cost to nature. Some of these new hydroponic veg factories seen promising. " My garden is pretty wild because I'm lazy. :D

"Growing meat in a lab is the way forward for the future of world food production." Just like GM crops were too. Look what that has done. Most people in the west consume 3x the volume of what their body needs and because it's mostly overcooked, it's lost most of the usable nutrients. What really would change things is if people reduced their consumption and made wiser choices about what they consumed. Many many studies have shown there's a direct correlation with what we consume and some cancers. This is also a driving reason for any vegetarians and vegans.

" For every lb of meat it takes between 15-20 lbs of vegetable to produce it, farming is primarily done to feed animals and that’s approximately 80% of the worlds fields All that is currently on the rise as humans are consuming huge amounts of rainforest for farming, that cases devastation of the planet and the natural ozone of the planet will be affected if it doesn’t stop, in layman’s terms It means we are fucking ourselves over Stop farming animals means less food is needed to be grown so just food for humans and rainforests are left alone I just wish I could be a vegan, tbh meat doesn’t taste as good as it used to anyway but we are just so set in our ways So I’d still bow to the vegans they really are the ones taking care of this world by doing this personal choice and in future we probably will all be anyway Regarding cruelty you really should look online and see what life is like for animals that are farmed " As Rome burns I will be eating steak medium rare with cream and mustard sauce, mushrooms and chips.. enjoy your lettuce and lecture..

Lab grown meat isn't the same as GM foods. Cells can be taken harmlessly for any animal and can then be cultured in to a pure fat free meat of that animal. The are cells split and grown via vitro cultivation. Technically the cells only needs to harvested once as they can be copied many times over. The meat is then grown; at the moment only in the lab, into whatever needs to be produced. The meat is 100% pure and unmodified.

But still, the original animal has not consented to giving those cells. So vegans will still find that problematic and not eat it. It might be a good environmental solution, but while many vegans do also care about the environment, it is not environmental issues that generally cause them to be vegan.

That will be because of changing a diet completely is a hell of a difficult thing to do initially, some vegetarians really miss things like a bacon sandwich so whilst they are trying their best so what’s wrong with substitutes, some people just don’t have great cooking skills so need a ready meal but ultimately it’s not meat Even if we all had non meat half the week be it plain veg or substitutes that would be better for us all and less meat consumed beans less farmed less killed I make chilli with Veggy mince for healthy meal and most people I know do too

We compete for resources just like them and just like a fox in a henhouse when we only need one hen to survive we will kill the lot. " You're quite right. Lets just get back to men smashing women over the head, dragging them back to the cave, and having sex with them against their will...
