Article in one of the papers suggests we have entered the first decades of the premature end of mankind. Quote :

In his introduction he says the report’s authors “have laid bare the unvarnished truth about the desperate situation humans, and our planet, are in, painting a disturbing picture of the real possibility that human life on earth may be on the way to extinction, in the most horrible way.”

Good. Can't wait. Humanity doesn't deserve to survive.

I had to get my own breakfast and get up early ........

Humans, like all living creatures, adapt. I strongly believe that as the planet changes so will our ability to survive on it. It will most likely be a slow process thus thinning the numbers significantly until all children are born with whatever "extra" they need to survive on future earth.

What do they mean by 'the premature end'?

I think we're sleep walking into it myself but whether it's premature or not I don't know.

To be honest i can't think of much that redeems us as a whole for us to have lasted this long,

I have long held a theory that humanity is akin to a virus in almost every sense.

The end will be with over population, they estimate about 50 years or so.

I strongly suspect that food and water shortages will reduce the population to levels that the planet can support

"Does this mean we get to have more sex, or less ? "

Less.

Less population means less men. Men always die first (so everyone says on here).

Best get your shags in while you can Autumn. We’re all DOOOOMED!

When they say "premature end" I imagine the Earth turning to Venus with a sheepish look saying "Sorry, this doesn't normally happen".

I'm just hoping it's a zombie end so there's a chance to survive.

I'm not convinced the masive exponential rise in the human populous in the last 100 years is sustainable.

Yellowstone volcano is overdue to pop.

The last time it went off it wiped almost all human beings and only left 30 breaing pairs. It's currently being monitored as there have been rumberlings. Nowt we can do about it.
