So we are taking delivery of some kittens today, which we will grow up and love until they find their forever homes.

It's something we do every year or two, and it's very rewarding.

Do you/have you ever fostered any animals?

It's quite hard not to keep them!

How can you bring yourself to give them away to their forever homes? I'd be in bits lol

Mainly because I already have as many animals as I can cope with so it would be unfair to the current herd to increase it!

(Last year I fostered 2 kittens and we kept 1)

I couldn't foster animals, I wouldn't be able to give them up once I had bonded.

Yep. I paid Cats Protection £65 adoption fee. Vaccinated him. Neutered him. The little tinker decided he would live next door. Cats

I fostered a shepherd pup (around the 6 months old mark) for a month last year. I really shouldn't have agreed to it but caved in. Huge mistake and one I wont make again whilst girl dog is still with me. She's too old these days

Had a foster dog, it stayed, made mind up within an hour.

So couldn't do it again.

Bedworth

One day we plan to foster cats/kittens but now isn’t the right time.

We currently have 4 aging cats, youngest is nearly 9 and oldest nearly 15. The oldest is diabetic and needs insulin injections twice a day along with blood glucose testing 3 times a day, weekly testing for ketones and monthly curve tests (testing blood glucose every 1-2 hours over a 12 hour period). One of the boys had most of his teeth out a couple of months ago. Oh and the youngest has hurt her leg today so has to see the vet tomorrow. In the last year it’s cost us over 5 grand to keep them healthy, not to mention the time they need and the worry about them.

I fostered a 7/8 week old black kitten last summer.

She's still here
