Absolutely! I bloody love it. Makes me feel intelligent and also like I’m winning at life in comparison.
Just for once though I’d like to see the villa full of average looking 30 somethings who know a bit about life and would actually be a challenge to play Scrabble with. It ain’t going to happen so here’s to summer with a villa full of very good looking but dim young’uns. May they have their 5 minutes of fame and make a dick of themselves on camera for my entertainment! |

They just prefer the people with most insta followers and celeb friends ...
I'm sure if they picked 20 people off this group the show would run all year and 24 hours a day with the great content |

I’ll be watching and I watch very little tv.
I got in to the first series last year after taking a knock to the head and got a pretty horrible concussion.
That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it |

With 2 ex-love island “stars” suspected to have committed suicide as a direct result of the media pressure that is induced by the reality show - why is it still on?
The recent suicide of a Kyle show participant shut that reality show down immediately .

No one forced them to go on the show, don't blame their suicide (their own decision) on someone/something else. |

I don't watch it as I find reality programmes like this unreal. Plus the people who go on the show are probably narcissistic and superficial who only care about not onlty sex but also the fame of one of them wins.
I will have to agree that this should should have been cancelled after two people from the show committed suicide because, what happens if it happens again? |

Should people stop joining the armed forces because it can cause PTSD?
It's freedom of choice. |

I'm sure joining the army is a lot different then joining a TV show. I agree that everyone has the right to choose.
What I think is people who apply for stuff like this should be psychologically evaluated to see if they'll be capable of coping in stressful situations. |

So the show should go on, given certain measures are in place? I can agree with that. |

I was thinking the same. I don’t think that “real women” constitutes as being curvy. Some of us just can’t gain weight... doesn’t make me a fake woman |

I saw the first minutes of it before I had to change channel, at a guess they didn't test the blokes for steroids? |

Never watched it before.
Watched a bit, fame seeking plastic people.
Why no average bods either, pretty much all slimmer women and all guys with abs. What about representing the dad bods and women with wobbly bits and stretch marks etc.
No wonder young people grow up with it image issues with this being touted as the norm. |

It's kind of like the show is body shaming people with average or overweight bodies. |

Its the audience do the body shaming, the people at home, the trolls, the keyboard warriors. Wat right does any person have to comment on another persons body. Ok the show seems to be leaning towards very slim girls, but there also only the first few girls to enter the house. |

Iv seen that and many similar, whilst I agree young people feel a lot pressure to conform and look a certain way, love Island is not body shaming anyone. Granted its showcasing certain body types buts its not slating or shaming anyone that doesn't look like that. |

Spot on, I think if they did show blemished, larger, wobby bodies they those people would be shamed all over social media. Its individuals who shame not the show. |

I know that it doesn't actually say the show slates people. What is puzzling though is when a spokesperson said "We’re not trying to pretend this is reality. This is a sort of hyperreal world. Normal life doesn’t always look like this, nor should it."
It gives me the impression that the show isn't real despite it being a Reality TV show. |

But the same could be said for shows like Towie, real housewives ect. Instagram, photo shopping, fashion/glamour magazines all have the same effect, should we ban them all? |

I understand that it's not meant to be taken seriously and I understand why it has an audience and if they like it, I won't stop them as they have every right to watch whatever they wish. |

Urgh. . watching spoilt daddies rich kids with unrealistic expectations trying to fall in love that clearly base everything off looks.... Not for me.
If it was the average person then yeah.
But these are gym freaks and beautiful women that clearly don't need love island they've probably got boyfriends and girlfriends for every day of the week. |

Another jaded response. Why can't aesthetically beautiful people be humble, shy, socially awkward, unlucky in love?!? You seem very judgemental at the moment against how others look.

They may have qualifications but they seem either vacant or tiny princesses with proper bants. All the guys seem older wide boys too... the only woman who's a similar age (26) has never had a relationship. |
