I need a project.....

Hi all, I need the Fab Forum Collective to impart its' wisdom...

Life has got a bit 'meh'. I've lost the enthusiasm and sparkle that comes with having passion for a project or a hobby. The last thing I felt really ecstatic about was back in January, so months ago.

What are your passions? What gives you a frisson of pleasure and a sense of achievement? I haven't a clue what will pique my interest so just throw things at me and I'll do some googling.

Cheers

I’ve no patience for writing a novel , but I’m considering other things

I'm liking these suggestions... (apart from yours, Adam....)

Money would be an issue. It must be fairly low budget.

Why not volunteer doing something you enjoy. I used to be leader at Girl Guides.

I’m hoping to do some walking and have joined a Facebook group.

Aspergers.... Don't want to risk getting 'peopled out' and it having a negative impact on the rest of my life. I get a social hangover quite badly.

I've heard laying in bed with a Piece of Cake is always a good idea.

So a friend told me anyway

The gym for me and to be honest my work. I love my job and I’m a bit of a workaholic. Don’t really have time for anymore hobbies.

I actually enjoy decorating my house, completing each room and seeing the finished product. It's like changing rooms, but without Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen ruining my house.

Writing is something I’m passionate about which is awesome on a grey day like it has been today.

You could always learn card magic. Just a deck of cards and youtube. Takes time to build skills but kept me interested and entertained for years and whenever I start a new job I find a way to drop it in that I’m an amateur magician. Great icebreaker

Volunteer at a coffee morning for people with Learning Disabilities etc? I always found my role in LD left me feeling very content with how I spent my time. Form some amazing friendships too

Yoga and violin. Yoga is really quite simple to pick up and you can do it in your own space and focus on the then and now with no fancy gear, just YouTube and you. There's something really satisfying about seeing progress in your poses (and if I can do it at my size, you should be okay! ) and you can always adapt them depending on flexibility.

On a serious suggestion, have you tried geocaching? Me and kids do it from time to time. It's fun and good for you

OK, after all the suggestions I've realised that I need to do something with my brain. I've an active outdoor job so it's not exercise or nature or green spaces that I need. I'm going to look at some local night classes. Thanks for all your suggestions...

North Bucks

Make stuff out of wood. I suffer from Aspergers and I tuck myself away with my thoughts and build stuff. I started off making picture frames and ended up recently building my own cabin.

I love wood the smell the texture etc.
