I come here for me
I find the Forums cathartic in some way
It's nice to ponder, to chuckle and, sometimes, to roll my eyes
If I found a need here for the recognition of strangers, my world would be a far lonelier place
Coming to the Forums over the years has gained me a couple of most lovely friends, yet I am bypassed by the thousands of others who attend here daily
I couldn't possibly deal with the attention from even a small % of them, let alone the majority, so why would I seek it out?
I've posted threads with zero responses numerous times, but it doesn't stop me posting in other peoples - it also doesn't stop me making new threads
I also say things that I think are relevant or piss funny and they are often bypassed / ignored
That doesn't bother me either
I made a contribution
The personalities here change - other than 3 or 4 people, those that frequent the Forums now are completely new to me
They come, they go - it's the nature of the beast
I don't know why others get upset by not being noticed or up there with some sort of perceived elite |

When you add your name to the list on such threads, you take the risk of rejection or attention (usually from a penis profile!). I think the majority in here feel the way you do OP, we all want to be more popular.
Also I saw someone mention about private messages (I'd quote it but can't find it now, sorry) and that rings true, I get much more support in private and, as much as its appreciated, I wish sometimes a few ppl would be braver and post those messages in public. I reckon if more ppl were straight talking in here then it might result in them being picked too.
