I'm convinced there is a humour divide between North and South.
The people I tend to piss off, or piss off me are generally southern and its never intentional it just seems to happen 
I kinda find their humour a bit obnoxious and in your face and they seem to find me a northern girl a bit sarcastic and abrupt I'd love to get around this but I can't seem to find that humour connection.  |

My grampy was a yorkshire man. Very dry, spoke how he found regardless of who he was speaking to (sometimes you’d want to shrivel up and die in his presence it got that awkward) but i also had a step dad who was even more blunt, very opinionated, very sarcastic and very intolerant of others. He would basically tell you what he thought of you to your face. And it usually wasn’t good!
I blame them for my “humour”. I always make my mum and my kids laugh though so i’m happy. |

As a northern Lad moved to the South West I don't really see the difference.....but I do agree with what you've said....but for London, not in every case, but a lot. |

I would say for some people yes but I love northern humour is way better than southerners. Some not all southerners are a little bit up themselves down here but what can I say I’m born here |

You know northerners tend to be more tetchy, it's very easy to light the blue touch paper with them stand back and wait for the bang...
It's funny because down south we generally couldn't give a flying fart about anyone else we are all double busy being cheeky.
Whereas the northern folk do seem to be obsessed with their superiority and hardness over the south.
And the further north you go the more touchy about it they become.
As for sarcasm being a northern thing not a chance. |

Up here you know you're well liked if the people around you are taking the piss.
I lived in Bristol for a while and my sense of humour got me a reputation for being a bit cheeky and naughty. Up here it's just standard. |

I've worked all over the country for the last twenty years or so and have friends all over too. Consequently have a decent grasp on what ppl think of other ppl in different regions and I could upset you all if I allowed this knowledge to escape my mind, innit....  |

I’ve been lucky enough to meet a few very funny guys- one from Bradford, Swansea, London. And of course I’m a scream also ( southerner) so it’s norhing to do with region. I’ve yet to meet a funny woman from the north though. Just saying. |
