My primary six and seven teacher. She is such a lovely soul, she’s only about 4ft6, thin and old and I adore her. She taught my younger brother, and both of my sisters. She’s still at the school now, I pop in to see her sometimes and we go for coffee.
I also work at the school sometimes so I’ll message her on Facebook to say I’m in, and will hopefully see her. She always runs across the hall to come and see me. She’s so caring and sweet and I hope she’ll still be there when my child goes to school - but she was old enough to retire when I was there!
Honestly she’s amazing. She’s started knitting for me now that I’m pregnant and when we got married she got us a wedding present. Aw I adore her
And that was tricky to choose! |

Mrs C (I shall call her) because she could see past the shy and the awkward in me and encourage me out of my shell. She was interested and interesting. She had a positive impact on me.
Odd to think about school days, it’s not something I do generally. |

Teacher, I have a few but...
Favourite teacher would be my English teacher - absolutely amazing woman who would give me books to read that challenged me, take the time to listen to my precocious self whittering on with utter uneducated bollocks but gently guide me in the right direction and would take a group of us to the NT to see various productions. She encouraged me to do Masters even after a really tough time in my life. I'll always be thankful for her. |

I didn't have a favourite. None of them were particularly inspirational and my chemistry teacher made it so dull that the enthusiasm I had for the subject and real desire to learn very quickly became apathy. I did have one English teacher who read Chaucer to us as it would have sounded when it was written he inspired a lot of us. My archaeology teacher was excellent though, her knowledge of history and archaelogy and breadth of reading was vast . I was in my late thirties that I studied that so maybe she was inspirational in many ways |

After I finished university and got my first job, my boss was a fantastic teacher. He just seemed to have the right answer all the time, didn’t brag and was incredibly hard working.
I learned a lot from him, primarily that being that kind of person in work was a very good thing |

Mr Weston
English Teacher.
He retired at the end of my first year. He was an amazing man, had fought at Dunkirk & his stories, when he told them or read from a book. He had the ability to actually take you to those places
I've dodged bullets on a beach, walked the streets of Verona, been swallowed whole by a whale.
He taught me how to open my mind, bring my imagination to life.
He was the best teacher ever |

In high school I had an English teacher who was my form tutor for 3 of the 5 years I was there. He inspired my love for poetry and literature. He was a bloody lovely chap and had an unrivalled knowledge of pop culture. He could recite pretty much any Larkin or Hughes poem from memory. That was pretty rock n roll to a young poetry nerd |

Keats and Yeats are on your side,
But you lose;
Because weird lover Wilde is on mine... |

My maths teacher, I used to cause so much trouble at school but I know thought I was funny she could never keep her face straight whilst telling me off.
I think she secretly wished she could sit next to me.
I was at war with most of them to be honest. My English teacher took us for rugby once and I'm sure he only did it so that he could assault me. He knocked the crap out of me and I couldn't walk properly for about a week. |
