Living in Stafford, mainly cos the old soul mate owns a house there, but it's such an insipid town.
Stoke and NUL are so much freindlier stone is so much nicer.
For a so called county city Stafford sucks ass |

"Move ?"
It's not that easy though, I was off grid for years, I could drop sticks and go anywhere with a job change and use any of my tri nationalities but my partner is kinda bogged down with real life and mortgage and shit |

Completely agree. Stafford was my closest town growing up but although we're now not far away I would rather go north to castle or Hanley than venture south to Stafford. So many empty shops in the town now, and Stokies are SO much friendlier, proud to be an adopted Potter! |

I don’t think Stafford is any worse than any of the neighbouring towns. As for shopping I think everywhere seems to think retail parks are the way forward x |

D has a theory thsts it's to do with Stafford having a main line railway station, because apparently Crewe is the same. Not sure if Derby has a main railway station though? |

Madley is in the borough of Newcastle under Lyme, so it's local council is castle and county council is Staffordshire.

"Not a big fan, having lost to them at hockey last week...
They didn't need a cheating umpire to beat us either."
How many of your team were actually alive then? |

Exactly this! The internet is killing the high street. It’s also very central, a short train trip to Birmingham, Manchester or Liverpool. You can easily drive to Telford, Newport, Ironbridge, Shrewsbury, Stoke. Cannock is getting a new shopping village. Not too far to travel to get to the sea. Lots of lovely places to explore that aren’t too far away, a lovely town park, castle, Shugborough, Cannock Chase etc.. And 3 clubs within a half our drive to choose from too!!
Maybe you need to get out & explore a bit more? |

Erm, I was on about the specific town itself the amenities and attitudes of the locals, not the fact it's got a train station, I live it's train station because as I've said previously I go shopping in Hanley or Birmingham a lot.
I found London more interesting and cosmopolitan, the same with Edinburgh and Birmingham.
Most of the towns and villages surrounding Stafford are freindlier. Out of all the places I've lived I liked JBurg best |

"If you want empty shops come to wolverhampton, we have a whole Mander centre with nothing in it
Not been to Wolvo for years, is it really that bad?"
They closed it to remodernise it and forgot to put the shops back in. The high street is busy but the shopping centre consists of a huge Debenhams that’s rumoured to be closing and poundshops ooww and a hmv |

Agreed. Went to swoon a few times at the Coliseum...dead pretentious. Golden and 2Pure at the void in Hanley however was the polar opposite. Used to work in pubs in stone..great place.
