If you sent a message to someone and it is left as 'been read' but no reply. Would you prefer if the message was just deleted or are you fine with it in that unsettling status of 'been read'?

So what is it, 'deleted' or 'been read'

Best thing this site could do is scrap the sent mail box. It does nothing but send people mad. Stop checking it

I go to their house and ask when they plan on sending their reply

I don't find "been read" but no reply unsettling. It just means they have read the message and are probably not interested. No Point getting in a stew about it x

Once I stopped waiting for replies life on Fab was more pleasurable for me. The only time a message not being replied to bothers me is during a conversation about arranging a meeting. When the line goes dead that’s disconcerting as you’re left wondering why.

Once you post a message to someone - it's theirs - not yours.

If they wanted to hold on to a letter you sent but hadn't replied to , would you be asking strangers why they had read your letter but not responded ?
