The idea that the balance of power might be tipped and my consent might hold less weight.
Often when I'm offered these things in messages it seems to be, they think it'll tip the balance more in their favour, like a gift with purchase. It rubs me completely the wrong way. |

Ah, I see your point. I guess from that perspective it can be difficult to find someone who will stick to an agreed arrangement without them encroaching on some 'generous' extras.

If it happened in a meet it'd be fine, if I've worked out that I want to meet this person, etc
But as a selling point it's a presumption against through to hard pass. |
