Your defining characteristic.

We are the sum of all our parts, as they say, but what is your dominant characteristic? The one quality that you either prize most about yourself or that is most commented on by others? Or do people frequently mention something about you that you don't personally recognise in yourself?
I feel my defining characteristic is my curiosity, yet other people seem to mention empathy more than anything. I find this hilarious as I'm autistic and I'm apparently not supposed to have any of that |

I think it’s my unique ability to bring people together, but other people seem to think that Its that I’m an annoying knobhead. Strange how other people view you. |

"I'm quite an enthusiastic sort - I get really excited about things easily and then waffle on and well... enthuse. A lot. I'm waiting for a friend to tell me what they think though. "
You can be slightly annoying. |

Mine is my ability to not pay attention to the question the Op asked. |

Brevity..
I mean ,why use many ambiguous and non essential literal phrases and multi syllable words and phases , overwhelming the reader or listener with long drawn out repetative explanatery phrasings when ideologically the compounded meaning can be logically deduced from non- verbattem non-elongated wordings.
Oh..and Irony ! |

I think my best quality is being self aware, I know i talk too much so when I know someone is pushed for time I text or email so I don’t keep them back.
If I need to speak to my ex I write down what I need to say so I don’t go off on a tangent and say ‘oh and by the way see 20 yrs ago you....’ |

"I said ONE defining characteristic, people!
If it’s only one then I’ll say self-effacing
I'd agree with that x"
I’m not sure that’s a good thing or not. I think modesty and humility can be good, but being self-effacing and self-deprecating is more of an overdone strength |

"OK I think iv got it, I talk too much and never think before I speak. I gets me into trouble but can also be hilarious.
You're one of my tribe x"
Yep and like you said in your OP others say I'm empathetic and considerate but we are not to be when austistic, just goes to show a diagnosis doesn't define us. |

Most people say its the way I look after people. I like to spoil those nearest and dearest to me, with affection, looking after them etc. My family say stop fussing we will sort ourselves out but I can't help it. My fwb says I spoil him too. And even my pooch is pampered. |

You have a will to feel what other people feel perhaps because you have been told you can't. I know a lot of people who claim to empathise but only feel themselves. |

My mum said i was very compassionate the other day. My mum very rarely gives compliments so i was quite suprised by that.
Physically it’s my height. Folk always comment on it, it’s a conversation starter in many a queue! |
