If a thread on a forum post is closed by a moderator why is there no feedback as to why. Wouldn't it be polite and informative to the reason behind that decision

It's best to leave them to their work, they know what they are doing.

They will state why they are closing a thread when they close it.

It may be because a duplicate thread was started, or because it broke the site rules.

Closed as in it is still there but no more posts can be added? Then there should be a reason posted by a mod towards the end of it. If it was actually fully removed, as in you can no longer find it, likely it broke a forum rule and this needs no further explanation, perhaps check the forum rules?

Having green arrowed you; your thread closed by the mods is because it was another thread in the Site Feedback section garnering support for a Camping forum section of the site. The mod closed it and pointed out there is now a Camping forum section so there’s no need to continue the thread in the Site Feedback section. The mod commented “Psstt...there is one now at the bottom” which was to explain this. So just post in the Camping section now, as it no longer is relevant in the Site Feedback section, hence thread was closed.

Hope that helps.

If this is the thread you're referring to a mod did post a reason as Estella said above.

I will close this now as you have an explanation
