Heaviest riff ever? Richard by sunn o))) Legitimately the heaviest song in the world.
If we're talking more listenable though; sleep dopesmoker, pretty much anything off the dopethrone album by electric wizard, syl by strapping young lad, half of Melvin's songs, anything by crowbar, I could go on |

I actually sucked it up last month and listened to Candlemas doomus metallicus epicus, and it wasn't as cheesy as I expected.
Cathedral are a good shout.
Dopethrone are a great band that you won't find on Spotify, but put their stuff up on bandcamp.
High in fire are a good band to get you geared up on the way to work in the morning.
If you like a bit of a sabbathesque riff but some punk screaming, listen to some eyehategod.
Want something that has some good seventies funk rock bass, but super laid back that you could sip a whiskey to? Weedeater are a good band for that |

Metal was the soundtrack to my teen years. Sabbath, Maiden, Saxon, etc etc. What they call "classic rock" these days. Shudder.
These guys are the best live show I've seen lately, heavy af. Great stuff 3

Avenged Sevenfold are great, especially “Nightmare”. System Of A Down and Slipknot too. Listen to Kerrang radio a lot and there’s not much in there I don’t like.

"You have exquisite taste in music buddy! We’re into the heavier bands too!
@OP the heaviest band I’ve ever heard is a band called Lazarus Blackstar, filthy doom/sludge! "
Thanks. The more I listen, the heavier I seem to go. I feel like I've got peak heaviness now, and it's just a case of branching out as far as I can go. I give underground bands most my time these days, which I feel makes me look a bit of an elitist. |

We’re the same with the underground scene mostly, always playing and going to see smaller gigs here and there, although manorfest was awesome last weekend, Orange Goblin and Phil Campbell plus 7 smaller supports! It almost felt like a day at bloodstock but indoors! |

Folk metal is fun, check out Cadence Noir "

Hark back to the days of stumbling out of that place, after drinking five or six kangaroos |

"I started going around 97, so there's every chance out paths crossed, or at the very least, we stumbled past each other a few times"
Very possible, although we started producing kids not long after 97 so we didn’t get out much until the last 10 years or so?? |
