I was watching a TV programme last night where some mums were living the lives of their daughters in order to see what it's like being a young adult these days.
How do you think your life would be different if you were 21 again? Do you think it would be better or worse?
If you are a young adult how do you think it would be being middle aged now? |

"I don't think I could cope with the pressures of social media as a 21 year old. I'm so glad it didn't exist when I was that age. "
I was actually shocked by how involved they all were in it. They were around when I was that age but not the same extent. |

Can I be 21 knowing what I know now?
Or does it have to come with all the angst and giving fucks what other people think?
I'm glad I grew up without the internet- so I actually had to go outside and have a life.
Without a phone so I had to actually look at what was around me.
And without cameras and pictures and social media recording my every move.
It looks extremely stressful to be young now.

They actually had them do depression and anxiety tests, the mums all got significantly lower scores than the girls but it was the fact that all but one of the girls scored highly that got me. |

I saw that, interesting.
I wouldn't cope with being 21 again now. There is so much more pressure on young people these days, and everything seems so much harder for them.
I pity my children sometimes, I really do. |
