It happens loads on TV, bad people turning good, everyone around them apparently forgetting what they've done and being charmed by their new persona.
Is that true to life? Can people really change?
Conversely the opposite happens too, going off the rails, something happens and they seek revenge etc. To me that seems much more realistic.

Revenge is a dish best served cold... not an ideal resolution in my book but realise some would take that route |

People with lots of negative personality traits / personality disorders never change who they really are. On the rare occasions they improve their superficial behaviour, it's because they are over a barrel and have to behave or in very rare cases they have been persuaded by a therapist that THEIR life will be easier if they stop causing drama.
Positive people can understandably become bitter if life deals them too many hard knocks.
