I stupidly weighed myself this morning and I’ve gained 5lbs in the last two weeks ffs! So what diet can you lovely people suggest for the person that’s tried every diet going? I love food and hate exercise, I’m guessing that’s where the problem is ! But my health is now getting to the point I NEED to do something!!!! |

I'm not the best person to ask because I don't hold with diets.
I think that cutting back on snacks, sweets and alcohol. Replacing these things with fruit, nuts and vegetables and building 30 minutes exercise a day into your life is achievable long term and likely to be more successful than quick fixes.

Thanks, I am a serial snacker so that would be a good place to start! |

Very good advice, it’s about cutting back not cutting out and doing more not doing everything. |

Keep a food diary. One, it'll keep you accountable (quantities not just types of foods), but you might want to note which foods give you things you want (energy, fullness, etc). Different things work for different people. |

If you're on instagram I suggest you follow a guy called the fitness chef. 1. Weighing yourself is not helpful especially as it differs for where you are in your menstrual cycle. 2. You can't think of it as a 'diet' its a life style choice. Diet is negative and has restrictions. 3. Work out your TDEE (total daily enegry expenditure) and you will know roughly how many calories you need to maintain, lose or gain weight! How can you lose weight/fat without knowing how many calories your body needs. All these 'fad' diets are a calorie deficit in disguise. Burn more calories than you consume. I eat whatever I want but do have to be sensible. Instead of having a whole pack of biscuits ill have 2. Buying smaller size chocolate bars etc. X |

We're doing the 16/8 diet. Eat sensibly for only 8 hours a day and then it's purely water for 16 hours. Its the easiest diet going and works.
Eat sensible food 12pm - 8pm
Fasting 8pm - 12pm |

Healthy, correctly portioned, regular meals.
Plenty of exercise.
I've lost just over 2 stone in 2 months doing this and lost over 4 stone the year before last doing the same.
The trick is sticking to it!
If you're healthy, your weight will be healthy too (eventually in my case, long way to go) |

I find it hard to stick to things, so tracking seems to be the solution for me. I think more about what I put in my mouth. |

Use a smaller dinner plate, I was advised medically to have half the plate veg, fruit or salad, 1/4 protein and 1/4 carb - a fistful of carbs they suggested. For 3 meals a day.
Then any snacks - make them healthy.
It’s working so far.
