Pet name pet peeve for me is being called babe or baby by anyone other than my partner.
I do use “lovely” sometimes but that’s about it, I’d much prefer to use someone’s name. Maybe it’s the way I’ve been brought up.
Any pet names you’re not a fan of?

Babe, hun, angel. I've ways used nicknames for my loved ones but they tend to be unique to them rather than generic terms of endearment. For example, my youngest child is Froglet McGoo. |

There's a name that a guy at work calls me, it's a derivative of my name which I hate. He's a really nice guy and I get on with him but every time he says "morning xxx", it makes my teeth itch.
On here though, I really don't use affectations |

The only thing that bugs me is 'love' a waitress half my age was calling me love in a posh restaurant and u found it irritating, over familer and disrespectful, especially as my partner was referred to as sir...
With my sexual partners and friends I have no issues with any words. |

Sweets is a result of my ex - she said it to literally everybody
Chuck and Love are two terms used a lot by older people round these parts
I like them

If someone knows me, totaly different though.
I call everyone Lovey - female or Matey - male.
Always used those expressions growing up the local dialect, Duck if you were female. Youth if you were male. I couldn't grasp calling a women after an aquatic bird, and an old man a young man
So Lovey & Matey took over.

My husband calls me baby, always has done. Calls me it so often that on our wedding day when he used our name, if felt so strange.
Although now we have an actual baby on the way, he’s trying to figure out what to call me 
I don’t like most pet names being used by people I don’t know.
Only one I absolutely despise anyone using is babes |

My daughter is called Bernard, Slink, Malinki and others besides. None of which are her actual name. A friend has developed a nickname corresponding with her married initials. Have to admit I will give folks their own names |
