What did you get as a child when you were ill?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I'm stuck in bed and a convo with someone reminded me that when we were wee kids we always got Cream Soda and Spangles if we were unwell enough to be kept off school.
What's was, or is, your convalescence treat? |

"Milk of Magnesia once but never again we posted at the same time "
Lol how spooky is that
I think they sold it all to the Russian biological warfare department and I suspect it was what they used in Salisbury ! |

"Sometimes ginger beer for nausea.
I couldn't take a lot of kid friendly medicine, so when I was really young, pills mashed up into jam. "
Oh you just reminded me i used to get paracetamol crushed between 2 teaspoons with a tiny spot of juice on spoon before i could swallow tablets |

A teaspoon on honey dissolved in hot water with a slice of lemon usually. If pain was really bad we'd get calpol. No special food as such. We didn't get plasters for cuts and scrapes and I didn't understand why other parents did use them. I was bemused when a teacher tried to put a plaster on my knee after a bad fall |

"Original Lucozade. The glass bottle wrapped in the orange coloured plastic.
Tastes vile now though. "
My mum used to do this! I even remember the ridges and bumps on the bottle. It doesn't taste the same now though I agree! |

"Just lucozade. But proper stuff in the glass bottle with the plastic wrapper on like it was a present for your birthday or Christmas."
This for me too. Was never allowed it unless really poorly. Tried it again when I was older & it was vile. |

"Check all you guys out with your fancy soups and luxury drinks like Lukozade.
I had to go to school no matter what, never missed a day of school despite a fever of one billion degrees. "
Oh shush! Not dead are you? Did you no harm at all! |
