It’s been going on longer than that! "
We stopped taking it seriously after the 90s, and people got out of the habit of viewing us as a potential winner. Having very few of the sort of close ties that gives other countries bloc votes, once we started to put some effort into it again it was too late. Politics hasn’t helped. |

Eurovision and politics have always gone hand in hand, there’s nothing new there.
In terms of the UK - where was the public vote? Was that political as well? We could have supported it but we chose not to whilst other countries supported theirs.
My favourite was Sweden and I was disappointed with the whole build up when they were announcing the results. Poor Sweden. I did like The Netherlands though.
All in all I thought it was another great event |

Even us Brits hate our own country .. like say the couple milion who voted to leave that were betrayed and lied to. The U.K is possibly the least favourite country in the world right now |

well if the uk keep putting the likes of englebert humperdick and bonnie tyler like they did a few years ago...... we get what we deserve....
its not like you can say we do take it serious... and no current artist wants to do it,
the last semi decent song we had was blue (although about 5-10 yrs late) and they came top 10.....

I doubt it would have qualified from the semi-final.
Better acts that never made it to the final would have finished higher than the UK.
The UK basically bought a place in the final. |
