I listened today to a ballad I identify with a difficult period for me to the extent that just listening can get me a bit misty eyed....
Anyone here have a ballad they identify with a particular time in their life, be it good or bad? The kind that instantly opens a floodgate of memories as soon as you listen?
Today it was Can't let Go by Mariah Carey. Melancholic

Days - The Kinks. My ex-husband and I went to see Ray Davies years ago and it was pretty special. When we separated this song coincidentally came on the radio and it felt rather poignant. |

Good memory, brings a tear to my eye...
This reminds me of being in my dads tv/electrical video rental shop as a child,
Memories just come flooding back of the shop, my dad, the chip buttys from the pub oposit, the video posters on the wall,the distinctive smell of the shop.
Just put it on and welling up  |

Yep, but I'm uncharacteristically too embarrassed to say.....
.....the artist just fucking KNOWS love inside out and shows me up for coming to the party too late. Song makes me sad af..... |
