NOT MINE perfectly happy with what I display to the UK public
I'm not asking about content my opinion that is for the profile host
Methods and techniques, lighting , camera zoom, mode
To my mind photography is a skill and an art and for some how to take a frame a self portrait is difficult
What tips do the resident David Baileys have for those more photographically challenged?

Good lighting is the key to it all. You either want one light coming in from an angle at the side, or two lights pointing in from either side at a forty five degree angle to the line of shot. And getting a good grip on colour correcting with Photoshop can turn a good photo onto an amazing one |

What would you recommend as light sources , what hue or temperature, flash?
Angles I find mixed with lighting are critical

I’m the worst at taking them, Will always tells me off for not framing it right lol, I just press and go so take a few of the same thing and hope for the best, we only use our phone but Wills always look better than mine, agree on the good lighting though that’s for sure, that’s why we take them outside ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

I'd say something around the 6500 Kelvin mark would be good to give a more sunlike hue to the colour of light. If it's to bright, you can always use a softbox over the lighting to tone it down a bit. I use a softbox on my flash too, to mute the intensity of it down when taking closeup shots |
