Anyone have these? Are they worth it at the current cost of installation and UK daylight hours?

That's funny because my penis is always out in the daytime reaching for the sun.

I've been researching it online for a while. I'm not sure if domestically they are worth the cost just yet. Maybe in a few years when they become a bit cheaper.

Been looking into them too. Without the government grant at my last estimate last summer they'd pay off in about 25 years. Not worth it in my opinion.

Will keep an eye ln this thread.

Central

Payback time will partly depend on the price of electricity to buy, as a consumer, which is uncertain in the medium to long term future. Presumably it could rise much faster than now, if climate change investments warrant it. More expensive retail energy could shorten the time that your system fully pays for itself. The government made it a less attractive proposition by reducing the feedback tariff, thus extending payback time.

The guy who removed his putting it in the skip makes me want to cry, as that system could be generating power now for someone - but I get his problems with roof collapse - yikes!

I have them and they pay for themselves.

I have a long term loan with repayments so purchased mine.

The electric saving and guaranteed feed in tariff already cover the loan and as electricity costs go up i will soon be saving.

Only had them installed for 2 years too

We had them installed 4 years ago , but as mentioned above we didn't pay for them , The company who supplied them get the money they make. But they work we used to put around £25 to £30 on our electric key per week and since the panels were fitted we now put between £15 to £20

by the sea

I’ve had them to heat the water, just about all summer long you have a tank of hot water about 40 to 50 degrees by the afternoon and in the winter it heats the water About 7-15 degrees so costing for heating it up still reduced as it has had a little boost

Didn’t have the roof covered just the 2

This was in scotland

Our housing estate was built with them. We don’t really benefit from them financially, but the council does.
