so I have seen a few threads about it and have experienced it myself why do some men feel that their first message has to be balls to the walls. Like would that even work work at a bar or club and if it does then have to give them a very small amount of respect. So I was wondering what other peoples thoughts on this subject are. |

I feel it helps the man who can send a decent message stand out rather than give them a bad name.
If people can't attach an interesting or attractive picture, it doesn't give a bad name to those who can. |

yeah I guess that's true and yeah it is most men on here and yeah it does make those decent men stand out but not that much as they are drowned out by the other lack of imagination guys |

Nope, not a bit of it. The whole 'gives decent guys a bad name' argument is a a complete fallacy. Only you can make yourself look good or bad. If people are willing to think that 'all guys are bad' based on the behaviour of a few idiots, then they're not the kind of people that I'd be wanting to meet. |

I think some of them see "don't send a boring message" and think they have to be extreme.
There's a lot of subtlety lost there, like there's a gaping chasm between (based on but not real messages) "oh please, delightful lady, I hope I'm not disturbing you, could I ask you a question?" and "I'm gonna pin you by the neck to the wall and you're not going to be able to walk for a week". |

As a straight man on here I have no idea of the percentage of guys who message like that, but those that do are being themselves and representing themselves accordingly. That approach may appeal to some, but it's priceless to those it doesn't, as it alerts them straight away.
Better that than guys with a poor attitude learning to make false respectful messages to deceive women into meeting a fake. |
