Floor cleaning robots

So in the absence of a naked cleaner that would actually do the cleaning we've just ordered a floor hoovering and mopping robot. Has anyone got one of these? Are they any good?

We have the dyson robot hoover , it’s our second robot after having a roomba and it is phenomenal. It manages carpet and the wooden floors with ease. Best purchase we have made in a long time

Haha, you're supposed to put a wire down so the mower knows where to cut to.

My friend had one and she loved it, but one day her dog had an accident and she came home from work to find said accident smeared all over her carpet where the hoover had run through it. X

I see loads for sale on Amazon however they all seem to be from dodgy Chinese stores. I'd like to buy one however I don't fancy coming home to a pile of smouldering ash, only to find the robot hover still attempting to clean up the mess.

They seem quite expensive and I'm not convinced they work as advertised.

This reminds me of a post a saw about someone that had a robot Hoover and it was set to Hoover during the night. Only problem was there dog had the shits in the night and the Hoover proceeded to smear said shit around the house.
