Long story short... during the course of my work I came across am OKC*pid blog where they analysed all their data to identify the best questions to ask on a first date.
The blog's author hooked me with a killer sentence and I thought I'd share some of it with you:
"The basic currency of the internet is human ignorance, and, frankly, our database holds a strong cash position!
... This is the shallow stuff to ask when you want to know something deep:...
If you want to know...
Will my date have sex on the first date? ASK: Do you like the taste of beer?
No matter their gender or orientation, beer-lovers are 60% more likely to be okay with sleeping with someone they've just met."

I actually read a good article about the things you should ask when on a first date, some of it was very direct. Like are you seeing anyone else? And some seemed rude like Why do you think you're single?
But the article pointed out it's not always the answer it's sometimes down to how a person answers the questions that can tell you more about them. It was quite interesting as for the question I don't drink and I'd ask something stupid and obvious because I'm great at putting my foot in my mouth. It's my party trick

When I was going to a speed dating thing, my brother in law suggested I should ask everyone whether they were looking at my boobs. |

I do drink beer..... I also sometimes think is there much point in becoming invested if sex is shit. I did that with my ex hubby. Sex was an anti climax and never worked.

Question I would ask on a first date would be something around having a bucket list so we can compare notes.
It's a good ice breaker and also helps identify areas of interest and whether there's a future there. |
