At the risk of provoking a popularity contest (not my intent) who do you tend to look for on the forums?

I generally browse through and if I see a certain thread from a person or a name pop on, I will go and have a read, whether it be for good or bad reasons.

So who do you look for and why?

I don't look for anyone, to follow or avoid, I'll generally jump on here for a while and just comment on the threads I have an opinion on

I think especially as there are so many new posters plus a lot of the regulars I did enjoy have left or rarely post these days.

The 'avoid' may also include reading the thread title / it's intro (content matter), shaking my head in bewilderment, and simply wondering why?

Will depend on the thread title and content moreso than who had posted, unless I'm in a cheeky mood then I may just add a daft comment onto someone I know will be cool with me making a daft comment on their post.

There are threads I avoid and won't even open if I see the last poster is someone that repulses me and I know I'll find it hard to bite my tongue, or I may open and read the OP if it looks of interest but that's about it. I generally won't post on it tho, unless I feel I have something real to add to it.

It was just another musing of mine. Far be it from me to ask others to commit fabicide and name names!

Yes I have my favourite posters. Obviously I love Ash so I love his threads but also even though I'm biased he really is one of the most friendly, inclusive posters. I would also put Jim, Rubi, you OP and Nymph in that category. There isn't anyone I particularly avoid but maybe roll my eyes a little.

Those with an inability to apply a competent enough level of grammar lose my interest.

Your / you're

To / too

Lose / loose

There / their / they're

These are merely common examples.

Full stop misuse - namely, not using at all - is another.

Just don't get me started on the whole youse / use thing (innit bruv - oh my days!)...

I prefer threads that make me think so I'll always scroll for something to read and ponder over.. I enjoy your threads OP as there's usually something that challenges the way I think. Often I'm drawn by others that post responses as I admire their explanations, humour, bluntness or voice of reason. If a good mix of people respond it can be a fascinating thread.

So - if I fancy the person I'm likely to open the thread if they have started/commented on it because it makes me all "ooo, look at that sexy bugger posting bollocks. Yes please."

If I am friends with them I'm likely to. If the thread looks interesting I'm more likely to read it and respond. There are a few posters who always do quite lovely/inclusive threads and I do tend to join in those.

I look at the title of the thread, then mood dependent , post on it.

If you've blocked me, only you would know and maybe anyone you may have rattled on about it to.

I comment on anyone's comment unless I have come to know that you lack reason and judgement and prefer to be overly defensive.

There are a few characters I have come to 'like' ( their posts/opinions/stupidity/creativity/tenacity) and a few that I wonder how they manage to put one foot in front of the other most days.

O.P. Fear not , this post has been done many times. Epoch dependent who is mentioned.... you're all fads.

"At the risk of provoking a popularity contest (not my intent) who do you tend to look for on the forums?

I generally browse through and if I see a certain thread from a person or a name pop on, I will go and have a read, whether it be for good or bad reasons.

So who do you look for and why? "

I tend to bimble in based on the thread title rather than the poster.

If I've something meaningful or (in my ears) fucking hysterical to post I'll pen a few words.

If I notice a particularly narky argumentative wind up merchant posting I'll avoid the thread like the plague.

That's about it really.

Some posters make me do a little wee.

Some posters make me do a little whoaaaaaaaa there.

It's all good though.

Recently...

_ea monkey and Rubidoux - usually interesting threads.

ED - can't think of any threads started but I look out for P's posts.

I liked KinkyLondonpair's survey threads.

Prestonish

As a-few others have said - I tend to look for a thread title that interests me rather than a particular poster!

There are posters I like because I find them attractive and want to do rudies with them - those who simply come across as really nice people - those I enjoy banter with - those who come across as very intelligent and well informed - and one or two in the past I’ve loved to hate!

There’s a forumite for all seasons I think!

I don't think I've ever specifically looked for a particular poster on the forum. I just post on whatever catches my eye. There are one or two I tend to avoid though.
