Counselling vs hypnotherapy
Jump to: Newest in thread
Depends what problem you are trying to address, hypnotherapy wont work for certain things, although neuro linguist programming has much in common with hypnosis...
Concrete example hypnothereapy can get u over a fear of flying, nlp stop you worrying obsessionally about flying, counselling cope with the fact your dad was a pilot who cheated on mum and gave u trust issues...
And psychotherapy will explain why u want to fuck men in uniform |

I've had various degrees of success with trying to stop smoking with various methods..I've managed between one day and ten months but I still smoke..Hypnotherapy will be my next port of call. Maybe'll it will work, maybe it won't but I can tell you one thing with 100% certainty
No amount of counselling would successfully make me stop smoking |

I guess smoking is a physical addiction so you probably need more than just a talking therapy anyway? |

Actually for weight loss i would suggest a councellor, ive often said it in the past that people should find the root cause of why they have issues with regards to eating. I think if they had hynotherapy it might get them to change there habits but they may revert back as they havent found the cause. As far as smoking goes i dont have a clue when someone finds me the magic answer let me know |

I'm not so sure. After ten months of not smoking I shouldn't have a 'physical' addiction to nicotine but still had some sort of emotional attachment to it.
I'm gonna contradict myself now. Maybe that's when I should have had some counselling
Shit! |

Am i wrong in remembering that you are over the withdrawl symptoms of nicotine inabout 1 week (in terms of the chemical addiction ) but that after that point it's the psychological aspect which nee for so long in eeds to be beatensomething to do with my fingers and feeling slightly lost after a meal etc ) (hsmoking having been a habita |

A few years ago I had a few sessions of 'Past Life Regression stuffy wotsit'
I went purely out of curiosity but it was pretty interesting, and everytime I went a very similar theme kept coming up... which kindamakes ya ask 'why?'
I'd go again if I could afford it, just to see if the same stuff is still on my mind as was back then

Oh yeah, I would do. So much had changed in my life since then, it surely would be a different experience this time around.
Also, I loved the fact that for several days after, I was just so calm, nothing stressed me at all! it was lovely to feel that good |

I've done both. hypnosis is a good idea for relaxing you. I mean using mp3s, I have a few very good ones, but good ones are awfully hard to find. Otherwise it's too expensive. I didn't believe hypnosis worked at all in any way until I gave it a shot. It does, but it's not a magical thing, it's more like meditation/deeply chilling out.
I recommend Melissa Rose (type her name into amazon). Super relaxing voice, try it some time.
Counseling, I believe is a waste of time. At least for me. You know what Freud said about the Irish.
