A well thought out and written profile backed up with a decent and alluring set of teasing and tasteful pics together with an introductory message that shows they've read my profile and/or is off the back of a forum thread usually grabs my attention.
I'd look for similar in anyone I was thinking about messaging too  |

If I think you’re attractive and what I’m looking for and you’ve obviously read my profile and sent a well thought out message, I’d reply.
And I wouldn’t message you first - you’re not my type. |

Is it really all about first messages? I reckon you need to maybe demonstrate some intelligence either in public, maybe forum or chat room or have something unique about your profile. Or just terrific tits or a pretty penis. Luckily I'm well out of that shit now...  |

I check their profile. If it doesn't appeal then their message would need to be funny and catch my attention. Either that or pics that make my girl bits flutter. |

I don’t message anyone first which is probably why I never get anywhere lol.
Mind you I have bitten the bullet on the odd occasion and told people I think their hot, they either go unlos quite soon after (I don’t think it’s strictly my fault!) or I get ignored so I don’t bother now x |

If you're not getting messages you have a couple of choices:
Change things so you do (and there are plenty of things that can help achieve this, including changing your approach, revamping your profile, adopting a more positive attitude etc).
Accept that it's the way it is and carry on not getting messages.
I know which I'd choose
And yes that is a simplistic view but it's also a realistic one and far better than bemoaning a lack of messages/meets and generally adopting a negative attitude. |

I reply to all first messages. Most people don't reply so most don't make any effort in a first message as it's likely to be a waste of time. The second message is therefore more interesting. |

I’m more likely to respond if;
1. You’ve read my profile and mentioned stuff from it, I like chatty messages and common ground.
2. No willy photos in message.
3. Not taking about how you intend on fucking me etc etc.
4. Not suggesting a meet.
5. Tell me something interesting about you.
6. Localish
7. (Not looked on your profile) but your profile has stuff on it that’s interesting, tasteful photos and if a singles account no other women in the photos. |
