Just saying guys!! You know, life can be Brutus! You know that meet when someone lets you down! Or you really do it for your partner really well and say to yourself, “Veni, Vidi, Vici” or simply “Veni pulchritudine felixitum” (I came in a beautiful pussy). Brings out the flawed hero in all of us eh!

""What did the Romans ever do for us"?"
roads that lasted 2000 years yet a council road can't even last a year.

"Well yes, but apart from the roads" - I forget the exact words from the film Life of Brian.

The Romans gave us the sexual revolution of the sixties - the 360’s! They made Britons go straight, gave us underfloor heating, toga parties, orgies and sado-masochism! They gave us Latin without which we wouldn’t have had Asterix, or even Tintin! They gave us new words in our language to get our tongues around, and plenty of hot Italian women to get our tongues inside!

They also gave lawyers and gardners a whole load of posh-sounding words which us plebs don’t understand!

Ahem, by the 360s they were predominantly Christian, so the fun days were almost over. Much more excess before 300AD.

True! 325 changed everything. But Roman Catholic prudishness didn’t kick in for a few more centuries - till around the 1100s around the time of Eloise and Abelard. That’s when all the anti-sex dogma really started kicking in. E and A were the first major victims!

Although I wouldn’t agree predominantly Christian by 360s. Emperor Constantine had certainly changed the official state religion to Christianity in 325 but the decision met a lot of resistance. Like the reformation in Britain, the previously established religion took a long time to die out.
