By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

I’ve come to the conclusion that not only are there too many men on here but a lot who have more time on their hands as they send every waking moment at the gym judging by their pics.

This means guys like me who let nature run it’s course with their body don’t get a look in.

So do I.

As a previously overweight person who got herself in a fit state in body and mind (plus having three youngish kids and a job) all I can say is that everyone has time to go to the gym or running- which is how I shed most of my excess weight/bodyfat.

And yes, men who let nature run its course don’t get a look in by me. why would I?

I work ridiculous shifts so I do get a lot of rest days and I do go to the gym every morning. I am far from a beefcake, I am more a 40+ who enjoys working out.

As for being fake - you could say that about the majority of photos that use clever lighting and angles, filters etc.

If you are happy to let nature take it’s course then good on you, just don’t complain when others make an effort with their bodies.

The only thing that makes it hard for a person is the person themselves.

Blaming or pointing the finger at someone else for their dedication is rather distasteful OP.

The simple fact is that some people like a gym fit body, some don't, sometimes (shocking I know) people like lots of different body shapes at the same time. What many people don't like is people whinging about how others preferences are ruling them out if it doesn't include them.

The simple answer is to find those that you do fit with, not focusing on those that you don't.

The balance is more like 10-1 (yes there was a survey!)

I will also say that before I lost the weight and got fit I had more meets than I did after, anecdotal evidence, sure, but food for thought.

I know plenty of guys ranging from 30 to 70 years old who get meets very regularly and I don't think they even know what the gym is. Big thing is instead of complaining about what others have that they don't , they put their best foot forward, they put some effort in and attract attention for all the right reasons.

This may seem cruel so I will put it here rather than message you privately, if your going to be pissed off with me it might as well be in public.

1. Your profile has too many words for the culture you live in.

2. Your first photo is in too much contrast to your suited ones. Who are you?

3. The suited photo without the tie is good, the one with the tie is stylish but the way your holding the tie in the second is slightly scary for a site like this.

4. You have already denigrated your body with humour in your profile. That is a no no.

5.Leave a little to the imagination when telling people about how humourous you are.

6. If you like kinky so much people need to feel safe before they partake.

Welcome to the jungle.

My philosophy for being attractive to the opposite sex is eat healthy, maintain a healthy weight, keep fit, and be well groomed. All within my control. I have found this has held true throughout my life and when I have at times let any of them slip it has had a detrimental effect with the opposite effect. Here is no different to real life. You don't have to be a beefcake but there is a lot of competition on here so making the best of yourself is required.

There is plenty of choice but also everyone likes something different - we have preferences.

Getting a wonderful physique isn't necessarily something that needs guys to spend enormous lengths of time exercising either.

Just focus your efforts on having the health and exercise types that suit you and finding others who appreciate how you are. Lots of people don't like or prefer gym bulked/toned guys - seek those out.

This means guys like me who let nature run it’s course with their body don’t get a look in.

"

Why let nature run her course, that makes little sense to my mind

And to build muscle 45 mins 4 times a week , not sure

A , 180 mins out of a week is "too much " time

B, it's a negative to find or make that time to enhance the way one feels and performs

There may be too many "beefcakes" by your reckoning, but to have a moan about it is a bit much.

"The gym can help mental health."

That's why I started. At pushing 19 stone with a new number at the front of my waistline, near constant back pain and thoroughly miserable, I eventually found the motivation to join a gym.

7 or 8 years on, I'm happy to maintain where I'm at. I'm 50 with youngish, active kids. I need energy and I'm modelling the benefits of diet and exercise to my kids. I want to give myself every chance to be around to see them for as long as possible.

Yes, there's a little vanity involved and I get a kick out of being in pretty good shape, but, hell, I put the work in those first few years.

Would you have time to meet someone off here for fun? If so, then you do have time for the gym, it’s just not a priority for you, and that’s fine.

Nobody is obliged to go to the gym, I didn’t until last year when I was at my heaviest. But there’s always time to make time for something you consider a priority.

A quick scan of the 'most fabbed' men can skew opinion in this respect.

There are plenty of 'beefcakes' in there, that's obvious, but it isn't representative of male swingers in general.

There are more 'average' guys swing than there are 'hunks' and the average guys do well too.

People, of both sexes, swoon over the more attractive blokes, but I don't think it is realistic at all to say they are swamping all the fun.

The site is what you make of it.

Putting others out front and saying 'you are the reason I find it hard' is an utter nonsense and shows a willingness to shed responsibility and ownership for how the site works for you.

I have had 'success' here and I am distinctly average both in looks and personality.

Those 'hot' guys haven't gotten in the way of my fun and I don't see why they should get in the way of yours.

Besides, if they disappeared overnight, who is to say that your experience would improve.

What you're effectively saying is if the pretty guys weren't around, the women here might have to 'make do' with a few of the not so pretty guys

If there's one thing I understand about swinging, it is that it is not about 'making do'

MrMonkey’s response to your post mirrors my thoughts.

Besides, one persons “9” is another’s persons “5”. "

It's like you can read my mind...

I haven't read the whole thread but people should be happy in the body they have and if they aren't work on changing it. I hate this argument that one is bether than the other (and not just because as a runner I have neither a dadbod or big muscles!), they aren't they're just different and some people will like and some people won't.

There are a lot who think they are beef cakes. Not that many proper bodybuilders

"Frankly I don't really understand why the proportion isn't higher. Single men who aren't total fitness/roid bunnies would actually fare better seeking casual sex from any other channel. Fab for any guy below a 9 is hard mode.

Fab makes sense for couples up to a point, and single females, but single males... I salute your courage but you're on the wrong site. "

Why do you think it's the wrong site for single men?

"When I was younger I loved working out, but now I haven't got the time for all that.

People think it's an excuse when I say I haven't got the time to pump myself up.

But how can I when I work early until late, 6 days a week. The last thing on my mind after physically hard work is going to a gym.

Would you have time to meet someone off here for fun? If so, then you do have time for the gym, it’s just not a priority for you, and that’s fine.

Nobody is obliged to go to the gym, I didn’t until last year when I was at my heaviest. But there’s always time to make time for something you consider a priority.

Meeting someone for one off fun is not the same as doing a regular gym routine.

Still, if you can meet someone off here “one off” or regular, that’s time you have spare, that’s my point.

You just make what you choose a priority. Again, that’s fine. "

A one off meet I could manage. But if I joined a gym then it would have to be for atleast! 3 days a week to see any benefit.. Otherwise its just pain with no gain.

Not really.

Many people start with one day & increase as they go on.

I did. And you certainly see a benefit.

Good if you can increase those days, But many of us can't do that. I really doubt I would see the benifit with one day a week.

Gym owners will tell you anything to get you to sign up.

It wasn’t a gym owner that told me anything.

It was my sister who lost 5 stone, so I’m likely to believe her.

And I saw a difference going one day a week for a couple of months straight, it was the only day I had off work.

As I said, you make what you want a priority. And gym isn’t one for you of course.

That’s fine!
