Or Pikelet?

I do like a hot buttered pikelet.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I like them both. Pikelets, being thinner, lead to wanting another one.

I had two crumpets today. Both buttered, one with Marmite. Yum.

I find crumpets dont cook in the middle properly, if you give em a few more minutes the outside just burns.

I cooked 8 in the oven as I couldn't be bothered to do the toaster 4 times... The results were disappointing

The grill works better than the oven, but you've got to judge the distance and time just right.

Thought this was gonna be a dedication to G-Crumps.

I find crumpets can be somewhat chewy and underdone, I then find them too hard and tooth-breaky. I've not mastered the optimum toasting levels.

It's like half a crumpet. It's much thinner.

A flatter, slightly misshapen crumpet.

Exactly! I'm thinking this pikelet thing may be the way forward rather than the tricksy crumpet with it's cloak of "eat me, I look done" when the cunting thing is soggy inside

Since they have been recording such things. Last year was the hottest in 40+ years, this year the coldest since records began.

Crumpets are always one and a half dip on my toaster. Dont forget and make it a two dip or it will burn . Impatience after one dip will be cold middles

Ahhh, but what's the dippy digit on your toaster set at? This is vital information in the education of Crumpeteers.

Does this mean you're not the muffin man, and you don't live on Drury Lane?

"What on earth is a pikelet? "

We Scots call them Crumpets, but Pikelets are the English definition, albeit thinner in structure too.
