What is the most unprofessional thing you have seen someone do, when they should have been professional (I.e they’re working and they’ve done this unprofessional thing) |

Happy, funny, sad, worrying stories, bring forward! As long as it’s legal to discuss; just thought of one I’m involved in witnessing and can’t discuss ![](/icons/s/2/eh.gif) |

Saw a customer and the manager have a screaming match over the heads of other customers at a restaurant in Hastings, complete with very colourful swearing...having lived in Liverpool I thought it was quite funny, but my mate from more genteel West Wickham was horrified! |

Jesus!
I remember at school my drama teacher and the head of drama were screaming at each other. We thought it was improv, until my drama teacher took off her flip flop and threw it at her
All over a bottle of wine someone gifted the other at Christmas! |

My ex manager talked loudly about one employee to other staff in front of customers in bad manner. Not acceptable. She left the job not long ago thankfully. Resigned by sending an email to our main boss. Very professional indeed... |

I worked in a chip shop when I was young, and a d*unk guy was being vile and racist towards some kids who had come over to play football against a local team.
I asked him to stop and he turned on me, I asked him to leave, the owner asked him to leave, he wouldn't, so I knocked him out.
Not proud of it, but I find it hard to regret it |

The most unprofessional thing I've seen recently was someone outside of work that works for a partner organisation. The work I do is often confidential, always sensitive and often upsetting, even traumatic. Was surprising to hear someone discussing it so openly while getting my haircut at the weekend ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |

During one of the petrol shortages a few years ago. A police officer was filling up their private car (Were allowed to as classed as emergency workers). Then started to fill loads of fuel cans, so their family could also have fuel (A Private Hire business) |

I once complained about some out of date cheese in a well know supermarket, as I was I leaving, I watched them take the cheese outside, sat down with it and had a cigarette. ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |

I was backed into the corner of a small room, whilst at work, he showed me through is trousers, that he had an erection. He then proceeded to walk towards me and rub it up against me!
I complained to my manager and he got a telling off, that's it. I was made to feel ashamed. I never told my Dad or boyfriend at the time, for fear that they'd kill him! |

I work with kids and I’ll have staff try and chat about them when we have a night out, or if I’m on a night out parents will see me and bring up situations that happened at work... |

This all the fucking time. On trains in large gatherings, people think the person they're having a loud conversation with is the only one with functioning ears in the vicinity. Also I've stopped people so many times from telling me a work story by asking if it breaches confidentiality when it's pretty obvious it fucking will. Drives me bonkers, mostly it's care providers ![](/icons/s/sad.gif) |

Yes, it was but it could've been far, far worse, and so I count my blessings that it wasn't. This was in the late 90's- I know that it would be taken far more seriously if it happened now. |

I was at the counter of a shop near where I work. The lady who served me was of an age you wouldn’t expect to hear ‘ come on you fucking piece of shit’ while trying to get her till to work.
Priceless |

We had a casualty once with a (Closed)fractured Tibia. My medical officer said to me "Cpl Foley how can we tell if it is definitely fractured?" "We can't Sir" I replied "we need to send him for x-ray" "Wrong Cpl Foley" he retorted "We do this". He then proceeded to to put one hand above and one hand above the fracture site. He then pushed one out and one in rubbing the broken bone ends together!! I had to peel the poor guy down off the ceiling ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |

I'd say the unprofessional behaviour mostly lay with your manager, for not sacking him on the spot. |

I'd agree with that. Never had the same level of respect for him after that! |

A guy who managed to set himself on fire whilst refilling a petrol powered circular saw. The next day he managed to get trapped in a big hole.
The worrying thing is that he was the foreman and technically in charge of safety.... |

I worked for a very small building firm a few years ago we were building an extension for a South African couple she was very very pregnant and ready to pop.
When I joined the project was waaaaaayyyyy over budget and completion date.
The two bosses argued all the time one day they had a massive fist fight in the customers garden with her watching pale as a ghost and crying.
I went and reassured her that I wouldn't leave the job until it was at the very least livable ( I couldn't work for these assholes much longer) even if it meant that I worked for no pay I would help her.
Meanwhile these two where punching the crap out of each other.
I calmly walked out to the garden with a hosepipe and proceeded to hose them down with cold water it was February and freezing.
They stopped and left site.
The next day one of them came to my house telling me that the company was no more.
I asked what about the client , luckily very luckily they had a friend who knew a builder who took over to finish the project.
I went back to apologise to the couple and offered my services but the other guy had it in hand.
It was 7 weeks of my life that I regret to this day working for them really tarnished my work record.
So unprofessional and cowboys.
I am glad to say all the work I did was upto standard. |

I caught a contractor red handed, snooping through my things when he was supposed to be working. Rather than confront him, I reported him immediately, and overheard the conversation he had with his boss on the phone as he was dismissed from his job there and then. He'd obviously been caught rifling/pilfering before. |
