what i would like to know is, why do people have to walk 5 miles just for water???
would the money spent not be served just as well relocating the village 5 miles nearer the water source? |

Kidderminster+ surrounding areas. |
"i would like to know .... how much of my money go to helping them children and how much go to other things .."
am reluctant to give to street "tin shakers"as i do not think a very big percentage of that collected gets to the charity,i do also remember hearing about people stealing the charity boxes and using them to top up their spending money by going out shaking em outside high street storers!.(that was when we had high st stores) |

Id think if that was the case, they would have trouble convincing the charity commission of their charity status. |

go for the ones where you sponsor an actual child Jo. You will get letters from the child as they grow up and you know your money is helping them. |

Totally agree cuz it dosent all go to the people who need it.Say about 10p in the £1 goes to them its a joke, even the government have a cut, they take the pee the greedy frickers.Plus charity begins at home.Would we get help if we needed it i think not. |

"i would like to know .... how much of my money go to helping them children and how much go to other things .." It depends on how you give the money. give directly and it's about 50%, give over the phone via direct debit and it will be less as the company that employ the staff take their cut too. However OXFAM are a general aid charity which does not focus specificaly on kids.

a relative worked for oxfam and done the africa water aid thing..
she was appaled at how the top people on 25-50k a year - run about in company cars - mainly range rovers and mercedes and stay Nowhere near the famine sites and in nice hotels..
but yet they pretend to live in tents and act all poor and humble - every time they are photographed..
Charity - its a rip off (sometimes)..
if you want to give something to charity then dont give them a large cash donation - buy them something instead.. |
