Hi Forumites, just thought I'd share a quick profile tip.
So we revamped our profile to have message title request words a few days ago and the responses have been great :O. So while I've seen this done before I haven't seen it done like this as we have been sneaky and intentionally added a fake word request at the end to filter out single straight men who dont read profile. This has massively improved our experience on the site and I would highly recommend trying it if you've a long profile you can hide it in lol. Our way of getting the best out of the site imo as can't filter by sexuality. Anyhoo happy fabbing you sexy rascals lol, hope this is useful to yous  |

I don't really get this whole tricking people or getting them to jump through hoops to get a reply thing.
People are people, I wouldn't do it in the real world so I wouldn't do it on fab. I judge people on how they approach me, if they can't do it properly off their own merit then them adding a word to a title isn't gonna make any difference. |

Anyone demanding I fill in forms send pics with a first message hunt the keyword or any other silliness or "filter"...
It acts as it's own filter for me.
I'm not a performing seal. Nor are any other of those people behind a screen on fab, irrespective of how we interact with them. |

Neither do I personally I dont like how most single males are treated like buzzing flies by alot of 'NO SINGLE MEN' couples profiles have or my personally loathed 'single guys if we want you we will find you' sounds like their worth is already so little before they've even said hello. Most guys have been sound about it, I even cammed and verified a sound lad after catching him out lol, we just get so many messages from single straight men who dont read profiles, and who knows, hopefully they'll read the next one before contacting |

Just sharing as its helped us big time, its not jumping through hoops its reading the information that we have made the effort to put up before contacting, theres no malice or ill intent.
Also I know I'm telling people about it now but still gotta read the profile to find it which is the purpose of it, each to their own we just don't want to waste time responding to every message from straight men we are never gonna meet, no bad reactions from anybody so far |

Yeah a couple of guys got confused but most have gotten it, I just notice people skip long profiles to find the typical 'ad this' at the end. I prefer straight forward too but the amount of messages is crazy and I dont like leaving people hanging so this was the best way for us  |

Yeah, I don't do the performing seal thing. I read. When I message about a profile, I show I've read the profile. When I vet messages, I look for references to my profile. Any idiot can put banana as the subject and still not respect my wishes or engage meaningfully. |

Thanks, hoping it might work for others and get more guys reading profiles and less guys feeling salty or getting pissed off or down looking at yellow sent messages and rejections from people they never actually had a chance with and then taking that negativity to the people the could click with
Guys I dont get what you find wrong in this but whatever, all its asking is read the profile.
Fyi I hate the demanding face pics with first message especially when the profile has none themselves so with you on that one man |

We can usually tell immediately if someone's read our profile/what we look for ,so no need for any code words.
Plus we only meet couples on this profile.
On my single profile,I look at their profile first and that tells me if I delete or read the message.

Definitely, we are interested is straight or bi couples an bi men but we can't filter for this. I do honestly feel shitty about the way single men are viewed for the most part and we enjoy chatting to some sound ones, I just don't like rejecting people after some messages back and forth to discover they haven't looked at (in our view the most important part of a profile) the bio and information that would've completely avoided that situation. It's done in respect guys |

I'm not a great profile reader, especially if it's a list of instructions, I didn't read my current special person's profile until long after we'd been chatting, I think your own brain is the best filter and you don't know an awful lot about a person until you're in dialogue.... Just my opinion mind....  |

I pity the fools that send the vile stuff; and of course it’s truly rubbish for the recipients too. However, in general, I don’t think they (the senders) read profiles to be honest so I’m surprised that it makes a difference. |

It makes a difference because people who read the profile will have "banana" as the subject. So all the x or woah hot tits or whatever subject lines can be bulk deleted unopened.
I just speed read, and have become fairly immune to most of the shit I get. |

And we put alot of effort into our profile, its come a long way in the short space of time we've been here, if someone doesn't take the two minutes to read it before contact then we won't be interested anyway so we delete and move on. I see alot of profiles that seem fed up with trawling through the same generic copy and paste messages and in turn fed up with fab and I think that sucks because in such a short space of time it's changed our lives in so many ways for the better |
