Dangerous place you would consider going for a holiday. Assuming we make it out the forum alive, where in the world would you explore if you had an adventurous spirit about you, that isnt a typical tourist place. Im getting quite a thing for the Middle East and all the history that can be found there.
If it had the potential to be the last scary place you visited where would it be. ?

I'm not adventurous at all nowadays so a remote area of Spain or France probably.
I've been watching that thing with Ben Fogle where people go off to the middle of the desert on their own, I admire and envy them but don't want to do it. |

"I might suggest you all have to get on a plane too you lazy bunch
(Gold star for Calico and Morningstar though) "
It's possible for me to get a plane to London.
Or are you suggesting I can't afford it because I'm from Yorkshire |

Iran...I love Persia and the history is fascinating. I’d love to go drink in the sights, visit some of the old temples and palaces and soak up the sun. I’d probably end up in jail though, so I won’t. |

If it were just you and I. No responsibilities.. like children to look after or be there for.
I'd like to go to Central America. I speak enough Spanish to get by on most topics. I don't have a lot, so don't have much to take could probably talk my way out of getting robbed of my petty cash I took out on a day trip. I understand a few variants and cultures in olde and more modern Hispanic world. I like the food. The Carribean, jungle. Temples, ruins, heat, humidity, beaches, sharks.
But also drug wars, unstable governments, natural disaster zones, corruption and tropical diseases.
Are you paying |

Forgot to include Rome.
One day I will go back there if the legend about the Trevi Fountain is true.
For the history, architecture, the Bernini Statures, The piazzas, drinking coffee in the street people watching, the art, and the sheer pleasure of wandering what may be the worlds oldest city... |

Iran is fantastic- the people are lovely - so friendly and welcoming. The temples are beautiful. The mountain are some of the biggest in the world and awesome and you can shop ‘til you drop in the bazaars. And Magic Carpet Travel sort your Visa. Loved it. |

I’d like to see Babylon and visit Jerusalem. Cambodia is also high on my list too. The rest don’t really have the same element of danger although there’s a good chance of working in Colombia soon too |

Fuck me.. I'm not a coward. Maybe it's the Dad in me now? Self preservation? I'd avoid Pakistan right now. The Congo as well. Places like that scare me to death. You're a braver man than I. |

Yeah. When I was much younger I was in a very rural part of southern India for some time, so remote that I was the first westerner some of them had ever seen and I would be followed everywhere by quite a few people whipering "white woman" in Hindi. I would also wake up in the morning to faces peering in at me through the windows . No electricity obviously. I wouldn't call it dangerous unless you count the driving |

I definately understand that! Most of my desire to want to see the USA is driven entirely by some of my Facebook friends |

With the naievety of youth I found it charming and amusing. I never went anywhere without a local though and always wore a sari if we went to a temple or similar. My short hair drew attention and the fact that I couldn't differentiate between the servants and the family in the homes I visited. I also learned the hard way not to buy food from a guy at the side of the road |

Sounds very much like the echos of the British Raj. Foreign Office and expatriate stuff. I had same kind of experience growing up in other countries. There aren't many places left in the world where two vastly different cultures collide like that. Naive? Or Brave? Confident in yourself? Your local guide? Trust in people. You're here to tell the tale and you seem pretty wise to me. |

Naive confidence Ghengis, I wouldn't do it now. The locals I went everywhere with were the extended family of my first husband who's tribal village it was. They went everywhere with me for two reasons to protect me and because they knew I had no idea that it was way more dangerous than going shopping in Brighton |
