I do a full body workout 3 times a week and I have started the summer shredding diet, my fitness goal is to get below 10% body fat, for breakfast I have 50g of protein, 2 tuna tins, 2 fried eggs and baked beans

God this is so depressing. My goal is to just actually get there. I can not for the life of me motivate myself to do it. If I had someone to stand over me and shout at me it might work but I find it dull, I really do. Tell me how you motivate yourself.

My gym is the great outdoors. I ride one of those exercise bikes that has wheels and goes somewhere. The screen in front of me has a full 360 degree 3D experience, and plays realistic wildlife sound effects.

I have quite strong forearms which surprised me, what I lack is strength in my back. I know which muscles I need to work on to be able to do what I want to do. I’m still a lazy fuck when it comes to going. It’s soooo dull

You may need to go a tad lower , especially over time

Our bodies are marvellous at balancing

Watch your N E A T

Non exercise activity thermogenisis

As you cut your cals , your subtle daily actions reduce , often without your conscious knowing ( fidget less , walk slower etc)

Being aware and doing as you are , making deliberate extra walks will indeed help

Fuck motivation.

It's fickle and unreliable and not worth your time. Better to cultivate habits than rely on motivation.

Force yourself to do things.

Motivation is fleeting and easy to rely on as it requires no concerted effort to get. Motivation comes to you.

Habits are reliable.

The question isn't how to stay motivated, but how to train yourself to work without it.

I understand your point , it has merit, however I'd prefer not to say either or , I use both

Despite my life being habitually full of amazing things I still use motivation to push a little further or a little harder

I'd agree one must not rely upon motivation that wont work , but as a complementary part of the mix it can add some zest , spice , flavour, pick your metaphor x

Comfortable bench tonight, no pain, elbow or shoulder niggles.

1 x 127.5kg, 1 x 135kg, 1 x 145kg

6 x 135kg

Should be able to salvage a 150kg+ next week. No real progress but Not surprising given the ptoblems

Made a bit more of an effort this week as the Total Warrior we are doing is getting ever closer!

Plus I’ve signed up for a 100 miles in a month challenge (only include extra effort than my normal day to day) so wanted to get a bit ahead with that so went and did 3 miles on the bike even though I wasn’t feeling it

Back in after being ill. Back on the horse, as it were. Moderate cardio day.

No super concrete goals, but I want to minimise the effects of an injury I suffered last year. Discovered I enjoyed weights and have become an exercise person for the first time in my life. Want to see where it goes, live longer and all that jazz. It's nice that my body seems to be cooperating and the gym has become less of a chore.

Ahh, the gym plebs

I'd loaded my bar tonight, went to fill my water bottle came back to some idiot stealing weights off the bar

220 is about 90% of my max, that's about as high as I go in the lead up to a comp. Never test my max in the gym, that's for competition day only.

I'm not an expert or a superstar by a long shot, but I just try to quietly get on with it. Unfortunately I attract dickheads on the grounds that I have tits. (and although I never say it, I lift more than the ones that hassle me. Not bad for a girl )

I'm on annual leave this week, so I'm planning to squeeze in at least one extra gym session while I've got the time (around the decorating and gardening!) Work week routine is currently:

Monday C25K run in the morning, swim ½ mile in the evening.

Tuesday aquafit evening.

Wednesday C25K morning, jiu-jitsu training evening.

Thursday yoga evening.

Friday gym evening.

Saturday C25K morning and maybe a swim if I have time.

Sunday stand up paddle boarding for an hour or two if the weather's nice and I have time.

"I am having a rest day today, what about you? Here is a tip whilst cutting, minimize salt intake as it retains water "

Shag , I must advise against that x

Ok while cutting nutrition is low

Also you should be drinking about 3 to 4 litres a day

You need the salts , magnesium, potassium, sodium, zinc

You need the salts for effective fat metabolism

If you're drinking enough and have the salts to hydrate your muscles your body will safely go into a flushing process.

This will reduce some skin hydration

To reduce the final drop for a shoot or complete only , increase carbs, stop water and salt

I advise against the final step

So shag drink more and balance your salts and minerals

Been trying for nearly 2 months, work gets in the way. So... gotta get it in somewhere somehow.. cut my calories, and 4 times a day, 20 press ups and 20 body weight squats , in the disabled loo of all places, equals 1 inch of my waist.

Hiding in the shadows

Finally back lifting again

Did squats yesterday, oh how my legs hurt today!

Did 40mins uphill walk on the treadmill today, incline 8 at 6kpm to loosen my muscles.

Then upper body, cable pulls, triceps, biceps. Lat pull downs. Pecs & delts.

Low wright's high reps

Finished off with 40 hanging legs raises to stretch my shoulders out

I ache. I feel good

Many many techniques, one I use is

Pick weight you can max 3rep then rest pause 3 further reps use watch for pause rests to about 25 seconds

Aim to improve the 3 rep max by ramping the rep volume by one first on the first rest pause

Till your old 3max weight becomes a 6 rep max

Train 3 times weekly

I am having a rest day today, what about you? Yes there are many teckniques to use. I also train 3 times a week, that is a good idea to do it too with. I usually pyramid it from 10 reps down, 10, 8, 6, 4 and 1 and with the 1 rep max I try to rep it out to 6 reps and then increase the weight, after a few weeks I usually try a new 1 rep pr

Hiding in the shadows

My gym is expanding.

They've bought the unit next door & work is well underway

So I won't be going for the next few days.

Upstairs (cardio area) is currently closed while they take down the ceiling panels & part of a wall, and alot of the machines/weights downstairs have been moved.

It's all a bit cramped.

I've been working on the garden all day instead

I actually ache more than if I'd been to the gym

"I've been told by my coach I have another week of light work and fluff.

Urmmmmm?

Right you.

Listen to your coach.

You put everything physically & mentally into training for that competition.

You pushed yourself to the limit.

Your body now needs to rest, recover in order to rebuild again.

You go in heavy now, you will not gain anything but you could lose a lot!

Ignoring your coach's orders is never a good thing.

I would never dream of doing that, well

I am officially back in the game! Keyhole surgery done and Physio finished. I can now start exercising properly and god do I need it. All my muscle fell off me, thanks muscle. I have also gained a little tyre around my stomach, not happy but my fault.

All I need now is to find a program that will help me drop the tyre and get my muscle back!
