There are many status updates where I think, does that ever work and or do they not know how that comes across.

I give a wry smile when people talk about "quality". People who use it are either putting forward their own subjective view of quality or saying that you have to pass the Le Boudoir test of acceptance (such test may or may not include personality). I have my preferences but I would not refuse to talk to anyone who differed from my preferences.
Too many people have preferences which they call quality, but quality in my books is personality. In my books you can't judge personality from a picture.
