"a sad reminder that addiction can happen to anyone. Where does it say it was an addiction that killed her jemima cause ive just looked on the reports and cant see it anywhere It's common knowledge that she had major problems with drug addiction. Nobody knows if this is the cause just yet, odds are it will be related to her addiction/drug problem." I agree but she could of committed suicide or something

"That's a very cynical _iew, you are entitled to it. The fact is she achieved something in life, she touched peoples lives at times of joy and sadness, and it doesn't matter if you know her or not. She will be remembered for her talent, her beauty and her songs. Who will think of you?" I have replied privately to you. If you want to respond to me please do it privately too. Thanks.

"I never knew her. It won't make one jot of difference to my life. Sad when anyone goes before their time not just celebrity. Anyone been to the old woman next door today ? Princess Diana syndrome every time a celeb dies. She could sing but was embarassing on the X Factor or was it BGT ? last year. I hope she R.I.P. " Dont dare challenge the idea that public displays of emotion for strangers are anything but mawkish...i have never got more hatemail than when i suggested people grieve on the net rather than showing compassion in the real world.

"If I had had any say in the matter Amy would have made it to 48 and Whitney to 27. No disrespect intended. - Al " Actually I agree with you point, Amy was a much deeper talent, a bit like comparing Elvis with Lennon.

OMG you are so right in what you are saying. It almost looks as if we value one life over another one. I certainly would not support that concept. I could never understand the hype over Princess Diana either - psychololy offers a few possible explanation. Either way, I think ANY premature death is sad, for whatever reason for we will never know what it was like to be that person.

"This was suicide....drug user....no sympathy. No doubt her dealer will carry on supplying other celebrities who 'can't handle who they have become' as well as non celebrity addicts. But talented as he was Jim was an acid head, its the same with Jimi Hendrix, they were destined to die young. They could of been murdered, but they were important people and there must of been a policeman there wanting to make a name for themselves. Mozart as well, poor old Salieri has an awful press since as a jealous mediocre composer who murdered him, in fact none of its true, he didn't and he was a brilliant composer.

"Jim Morrison - A buffoon masquerading as a poet " I used to agree, I told an American girl who spent a night on his grave that for him death was a good career move as he'd be forgotten otherwise. She was a bitch and I did get a kick out of pissing her off. I bought the the album "The Doors" for about £2, listened to it six months later and then constantly for a fortnight, fucking brilliant.

I've read quite a few different accounts of Jim Morrison's life (all read with a pinch of salt lol) He was more of a drinker than a drug taker. He indulged in acid and other substances but not as much as people made out. His partner on the other hand had a bad heroin habit and Jim used to do most of the scoring for her, hence always being seen with dealers etc. Either way, famous or not, drugs are bad news and lessons are rarely learnt from people who idolise stars and mimic their lifestyles to a degree and all end up in the same place.

Those dead junkies are somebody's daughter or son or family relative. I have a family relative caught up in drugs and it is heartbreaking. The dealers are merciless and will do anything to keep them hooked. The younger the better as far as they are concerned. It's very difficult trying to help someone who can't help themselves.

"Let's all do the world a favour and kill a dealer!! I thought we supposed to be supporting small businessmen?" At who's expense? Depends how you look at it, enterprize for the up and coming youngsters, trade for the funeral parlours. We all have to pay a price.
" Back in the Swinging Sixties, Michael Caine is holding a big showbiz party in his swanky new house. Everyone who's anyone is there - top stars from the worlds of movies, music, fashion and art. There's a feed of pints, the best wines that money can buy, champagne, oysters, caviar. Lennon and McCartney are helping themselves at the bar, Jim Morrison and his band are sitting on the couch singing 'Come On Baby Light My Fire', and over in the corner George Peppard's getting very pally with Sophia Loren. All's going well until Jim Morrison decides he's bored out of his skull, and wants to go home for an early night, curled up with a good book. "Oi, Jim," objects Michael Caine "party's just got started. How's about I get one of 'the ladies' to take you into the spare bedroom for a bit of 'how's yer father?". "Fair play!" nods Jim, well, that's not his exact words, but you get the gist, "as long as she does the rest of the band too." "Not a problem, Jim," smiles Michael as he pulls a young dolly bird in close and whispers some instructions in her ear. Half an hour later, the young lass is just wiping her chin, when in walks Ringo Starr from The Beatles. "All right, luv?" He droned, "don't suppose you fancy extending that service to me, do you?". The young woman thinks about this for a second, then says "what the hell!" And proceeds to unzip Ringo's fly and get to work. Ringo's having a grand time, until, moments before the end, the door flies open and Michael Caine bursts in and grabs the girl by the back of the hair and slaps her hard across the face! "Wh-what was that for?" she whimpers. "I TOLD YOU," Caine snarls..... "YOU WERE ONLY SUPPOSED TO BLOW THE BLOODY DOORS OFF!"" I just let a little wee escape reading this....Lmao
"..Everyone has a choice." Unfortunately with many illicit drugs it is not quite so simple. I honestly do not believe that drug users are able to choose once they are caught up in that scene. I am not defending drugs, heaven forbid! I am glad, no grateful that nobody in my family and amongst my friends has a drug issue.

"This thread is about a truely aazing talented lady who passed away yes she had her demons but who has'nt. And very sad that she has lost her life. Amy Winehouse was a recovering addict when she passed. I have been in tears all night." So I suppose you have been in tears for all those killed on the Cruise Ship that went down a few weeks ago? Or the kids dying every minute because of conditions they have no control over? Or over people killed in car crashes? You must be in tears all the time! Or is it just celebrity that causes these tears? What makes one life more important than anothers? And to the person somewhere up there who said about Whitney made records and was famous and Joe Bloggs would never have a "best of" album! Shame on you... More "I loved this person, it is a real loss to me (There, that should make people think i'm part of this!)"

And to the person somewhere up there who said about Whitney made records and was famous and Joe Bloggs would never have a "best of" album! Shame on you... More "I loved this person, it is a real loss to me (There, that should make people think i'm part of this!)"" Not just celebrities no Whitney was a legend she lost her way, same as Michael Jackson. Music touches you as no other touches you.

"This thread is about a truely aazing talented lady who passed away yes she had her demons but who has'nt. And very sad that she has lost her life. Amy Winehouse was a recovering addict when she passed. I have been in tears all night. So I suppose you have been in tears for all those killed on the Cruise Ship that went down a few weeks ago? Or the kids dying every minute because of conditions they have no control over? Or over people killed in car crashes? You must be in tears all the time! Or is it just celebrity that causes these tears? What makes one life more important than anothers? Bit music is totally subjective, quite frankly i cannot think of a single song by her or jackson that has any impact on me, compare whitney huston to a great gospel singer lke Aretha franklin, or Big Mama Thornton...she was commercial nothing more. Doesnt mean that her death isnt sad for her family...but a tragedy?
"Thr brutal fact of Whitney Houston's life, and death, is that she was an intelligent enough woman to know what drugs do to people yet still chose to go down that path. An amazing voice ruined by a reckless lifestyle that ultimately claimed her life. George Best was no different yet when he died I heard so many people say what a bad man he was for ruining not only his own liver but someone else's too. Was his 'gift' any less in value that Houston's? Best brought joy to millions of people as did Houston, so why is one mourned and the other castigated?" What was the George Best quote ? " I've spent a lot of money on birds and booze, the rest I've just wasted " - Says it all really. Best made his choices, not sure Whitney had the capacity to.

Houston was not an unintelligent woman and was more than aware of the damage drugs do. IT seems that the entire entertainment industry is so hypocritical with their continuous 'Just Say No' campaigns when privately so many of them are stuffing lines of up their noses at every available opportunity. Either that or they have an army of doctors pumping them full of pills to sleep, pills to wake, pills to eat, pills to diet, pills to fart and pills to shit. Celebrity often means nothing more than a reason to get lost in your own ego and squander a gift some wouild give their eye teeth for. Whitney Houston died because of her own excessive lifestyle, and for that I have no sympathy.
