"Hey Costas... Happyy Easter to you." . Thanks Annabelle it’s only different date because we follow the Julian calendar where as most western countries follow the Gregorian but I celebrate both as I am born and raised in London

"Happy Easter. I googled it and some delicious Easter bread and other delights popped up. Enjoy " . Yes for us Greeks Easter is more important than Christmas Day we like our bbq , our Easter bread flaouna and our painted hard boiled egg and for myself and many in my age group and a bit older and younger we get to have two chocolate Easter eggs one for each Easter. |

"Xristos Anesti Happy Greek & Orthodox Easter 2023 "
Happy Easter to you Costas.
Can you tell me why on Saturday at about 8.00 and 9.00am my local Greek church rang the bells and the parking around it was full (clearly a service, but why on Saturday)?
Having said that, I don't recall the bells ringing this morning. |

On the Saturday Jesus’s body layed in the tomb whilst his followers mourned which I guess is why we go to church on the Saturday morning. We have lots of Greek churches in North London and they are always packed this time of year as for us Easter is more important than Christmas. |
