a Primark shoebox in Leicester

The great thing about cold weather is it's the time to make those oh so yummy comforting winter warmer dishes.

Fresh made bread hot from the oven with thick, chunky, creamy soup.

Stews and dumplings.

Giant Yorkshire pudding filled with roasted goodies.

Hot puddings with warm custard.

I feel cuddled and warm just thinking about it.

My hands were numb when I cooked outside my tent the past 2 days.

First night was fried rice with pork and vegetables, second night was spicy cous cous with Chorizo and vegetables.

This evening I shall have rib-eye steak with saute potatoes and parsnips, fried onions and mushrooms, and a Stilton sauce, to be washed down by a big glass of red wine.

Just had some Ready Brek to warm myself up.

I shall cook a fry up after I got dressed.

Agree with Polo about winter dishes, and I have a selection of stews, curries, soups frozen in the freezer ready to be eaten for lunch at work.

It is kind of cheating to defrost them to eat when I go camping this time of the year, hence I am cooking from scratch instead.
