whilst none of us are perfect and we have all made many mistakes along the way, do you believe if you do good deeds, you will be rewarded somewhere in the future?

Oh yes.

Seen it happen so many times, someone has made me look like a cunt in front of a lot or people. Usually by making a situation far worse than it ever needed to be, only to meet their demise in some way that is far better than I could ever have thought of.

On the good side, I have seen people who devoted time, money and effort when they had very little of it to share, get rewarded in simple ways when they never expected it.

Yeah I do. Do good things and good things will happen. It's not a one for one transaction but overall it's got to work hasn't it. Need something to believe in and I can't be bothered with religion.

I think if you're inclined to do good things you're probably of a certain positive mind set and will concentrate on the good things that come in to your life. But a universal score card with a points system that sees people punished or rewarded for their actions? The evidence of our own eyes tells us this can't be so.

I was just going to say this. **

I think doing good things makes you feel good and that makes life feel more positive. When feeling positive it can be easier to get over bad things, or find a positive view on it. Positivity makes the world seem nicer.

Exactly! I subscribe to the rule of three, whatever energy you put out, positive or negative returns to you threefold. I don't think it's the universe doing it though

Not in a religious sense but I truly believe that if you want to be rewarded on earth then you give love without expectations of return. The more lives you touch etc..........

Also, how much easier life is when you're nice to people, they tend to be nice back

A lady (stranger) once gave me a voucher for a free coffee in the queue at M&S cafe because she said she wouldn't use it. I was ridiculously happy. I was having a horrible time and it just seemed so kind.

Yep. I was really struggling to get a screaming toddler into a pushchair once in the school playground. One woman stopped and asked if she could help me after everyone else just walked past or tutted. Being kind is just nice.

I believe you get back what you give out...positivity attracts positivity.

And before someone says how do you explain cancer etc etc I don't mean things that are beyond your control, I mean your thoughts , choices and behaviours , the things that are within your control.

I try to be kind and considerate to everyone but I've never believed that the universe will look upon me with kindness because of this.... however, I made an error when working on my car that resulted in a wheel falling off; it didn't come off on my 60mph test drive (In a 60 limit - just in case anyone was wondering), it came off when I was manoeuvring in my drive the next day before setting off down the motorway on another journey. So, karma? Maybe?

Please send me your motorway schedule for the next ten years. I need to make mine based on yours.

A gesture of kindness can certainly make a difference and shouldn't be underestimated. There was a story, I cant remember it exactly but it was about a guy who was going to commit suicide. A stranger acted kindly towards him and it changed how he felt and didn't go through with it.
