Am I the only person to regularly think that what my life needs now is a hammock. Has everyone thought about getting a hammock at least once and what’s stopping you from getting one. I suspect it’s having two trees at the correct distance for the aforementioned hammock ?!

"I haven't got two trees sufficiently close together, but far enough apart to attach said hammock to."
Plant them now and in 30 years you could be kicking back in a hammock. |

What has a sailor got to do with the weather? "
They can sail to warmer climes. |

I never claimed to be an alpha male, whatever that is, I’m just seeing if I can make the most tedious topics go the distance. Who’s the guy with the big words, pull my finger ? |

My bro in law has one on a stand so no need for the trees. He absolutely loves it and even tries to take it festivals as it all breaks down into manageable parts |

It’s quite a sight. Although nothing is quite as hilarious as me trying to get on a lilo |

I have several camping hammocks as I love being out in nature but find the ground dwelling of tents uncomfortable.
Whilst 2 trees is the norm for hammocks there are a vast array of alternative hanging arrangements. My current favorite is a tensahedron stand which is small enough to pack into my scooters boot or top box but can mount a hammock and tarp with just a single tether point. I have had the hammock up on treeless beaches using the stand and a auger peg. |

Confession....
I once tried to have sex in a hammock.
Two of us clambering in kept upsetting the balance.
Combined weight turned the hammock into a cocoon.
It was really uncomfortable.
Next time I'm trying it in my own. |

"I have a hammock, but no trees at home.
But it's great on sunny days
Do you just lay the hammock flat on the grass ?"
No, head for a local park or similar.
Haven't spent a whole night in one though. |

Spending the night in one can be exciting. I often use mine in woodlands and get some wonderfully close encounters with the local wildlife. I woke up one night around 3am to a strange snorting sound to find I was surrounded by deer with the closest virtually under the tarp. Of course as soon as I moved they disappeared. |
