Depends when I am able to drag myself out of bed, but I actually have chocolate in my bedside drawer so I’m away to munch on that (I haven’t been able to drag myself out of bed yet) |

"How long until you eat? "
I've just eaten now but I got up two hours ago.
If I wasn't going shopping I still wouldn't have eaten until I was screaming hungry.
When im at work I eat way too soon cos sadly if I don't eat before i leave I don't get to eat until early afternoon

Depends if I'm going to work or not. I leave for work at 7am and my breakfast is around 9-10am. On a weekend or a day off I eat about 1 hour after waking up. |

I rarely eat breakfast at home.
Usually grab something on a week day from the coffee shop.
Weekend like today I go to my fav breakfast place in Leeds and people watch and catch up on admin.
If I’m a hotel, I ain’t getting out of bed...it’s coming to me!

"How long until you eat? "
About an hour. Although this morning I am in a hotel and my friends have ordered our breakfast at 9.15. I'm sat in my room waiting with a rumbling belly cos I was up at 7. |

I wake up at 7:30...coffee at 8, then breakfast around 8:30. I need at least an hour before I eat or I feel sick. And I need at least an hour after breakfast before I do a workout at 10. |

At this point you go looking for the borders biscuits and the over priced snacks in the mini bar! |

"I have to eat within a hour or so of waking or I start to feel faint. Is this normal? Fab drs to the rescue "
Have you always felt faint? Or is a new thing.
It's probably just low blood sugar, you need a carb. Maybe it wouldnt hurt to get checked out if it continues. |

Sounds like it could be reactive hypoglycaemia. The last thing you need is carbs, they cause wild blood sugar fluctuations. When it happens just wait, your liver will to its job of dumping glucose into your blood stream. |

I eat when I’m hungry only. I often only have one meal a day and that’s around 8 in the evening.
I do have a coffee on a morning and bottles of water throughout the day
Weekends when husband is home and kids are about I eat socially. Sounds weird I guess. I do enjoy food, loads, I get loads of pleasure from food, just never seem to need it.

That’s why you have those episodes. Your poor liver and pancreas are working overtime!

They are simply not necessary for humans. We run on protein and fat, without either of those we die, a carb only diet and we die. Read up on gluconeogenesis. |

Also look at something called Diabetic ketone acidosis reading to rabdomylysis
It’s not pretty |

I am exactly the same and have been since at least my teens. My mother used to call me "The Zombie". Whether it is normal, I don't know. |

Never less than 2 1/2 hours after I get up. I then set the rest of my meals from that and always try and eat within 10 hours. Sometimes 11 if in late meetings or tied up on something. |

Dietary ketosis and ketoacidosis are two completely different things. |

"I eat straight away, your body has been fasting since whenever you ate last, and needs feeding. "
IF is a great thing for humans and proper fasting is of huge benefit to our health. Have a look at autophagy.
When humans wake up, their liver dumps glucose into their system to get them going for the day, no need to eat unless you really want to. It’s called the dawn phenomenon.

An hour or so, typically. I'm in a hotel abroad atm, so much is close to hand, or mouth . I probably am going against best advice for having an extended delay before eating. Tea with milk - a horror for many - is my early mainstay of the day |

What's OMAD
One meal a day. In my case it’s not a meal that most people would recognise.
Oh....what do you eat? "
I’m on a reboot at the moment so just animal protein (not lean) but normally animal protein, dairy, eggs and a bit of green veg, cauliflower, mushrooms, that sort of thing.
My blood sugar levels remain in the threes and fours and it drops me a bit of weight too.
I continue to run on that food too. |

Actually it doesnt need feeding straight away. Some evidence is emerging showing benefits of intermittent fasting |

I just don’t want to die in a wheelchair, bumping into my dialysis machine. I also love that my health is amazing, I’ve reversed so many niggles that other people think are part of getting older, I’ve smashed my risk of vascular events and cancer and to top it off, I get to flaunt that body
