Ok, I was in today after waiting nearly two years for a now five year old implant to be removed by plastic surgery (yes the waiting list is meant to be 6-12 weeks, but didn't happen in my case) More important things take order and I genuinely respect that!
This is just an awareness post as I thought everyone just goes to their GP when they need a replacement, I love the implant, it has worked wonders with me, until the last two were shall me say ill placed! And my new one is now in an awkward position (to near a batch of nerves just near my armpit it was nearly missed)
Anyway, my point is, their are specialist centres out there that do dozens a day whilst you doctor may just do dozens a month or year, and the NHS are now being overcrowded by patients having these implants imbedded into muscle as was my case. So un-necessary money is being used, my hospital doctor today advised call your family planning clinic first, to have these done as they have the experience on the best placement (my problem is I am slim with zero (practically none) fat in my arms, which obviously they prefer (dare I type that?) but true, it was just something I was unaware of, and could help others like me in the future and help keep future NHS costs down.
I know this is boring and long but worth a think if you have had to deal with this before, apart from all that, I love the implant! Works wonders for me for the last 12 or so years |

Iv had 4 of these now and always had them done at the family planning clinic as surgery's don't do them in my area.
I'm sorry you have had issues, but I have to say iv never had a problem and love mine. |

My arm may looked battered and bruised today and for at least a week or so but my doctor today, was so happy to hear of positive responses that I fed back, as all she usually hears are the negative ones! Ok I'm on my 4th also, but will still continue with them, now I know there are is a specialist place I can just phone up |
