"Do you find the older you get, the faster the time goes,. It seems to be flying by. Or when your younger the days seemed longer. "
Good question Pam, but there’s a simple explanation, this is because when you were young you were experiencing everything for the first time. Now you’re older, it’s rare you will experience anything new, so you get into more of a routine, this makes the days merge by being less memorable, so therefore it feels like they pass faster. Best way to slow things down is try things you’ve never done before. |

Yes. It does seem to speed up a lot. They say things seem slower when our brain is experiencing new things and speeds up when we experience the same thing over and over. Probably explains it best as adult life is repetitive compared to when your younger and have so many new experiences xx |

That makes a lot of sense
But what I want to know is why does my work day feel like an eternity that makes me want to gouge my eyes out with boredom - yet it's the same old shit?

Good question, but in retrospective the week will feel like it flew by, because you’re stuck in the same routine, the longer the time span the quicker it feels like it’s passed. Although it seems to drag when you’re in the present. |

"I am trying new things, I've started a business at my age, painting old furniture, but the trouble is I can't buy and paint it fast enough lol you try watching paint dry. "
Traveling to new places is a good way to slow time down. |

Time for a change I think.
I don't want to blink and be 50 and still be doing the same old shit!
I used to have such an exciting life filled with unusual things- now I'm in Groundhog Day

I think as a child and young person you rarely consider the future, your life is lived in the present unless you're looking forward to (or dreading) something. The older you become the more aware you are of the past and the future , we lose that ability to live presently. |

Yes but its relative in comparison to the time you have existed so as a percentage each day seems shorter. |
